  1. Looks good against the black mulch. What are they, hydrangeas?
  2. Yup, everything through Allstate. Been with them for probably 30 years. I’ve shopped them around a couple of times, they’re usually not the cheapest, but they’re among the lower cost insurers and the service has been stellar.
  3. I agree. The 500k liability was the max they had, and only 20-ish bucks to go from $100k to $500k.
  4. I go through Allstate for home, auto, and ATV ins. They've always treated us very well. Just got a quote for $176/yr for $500k liability, collision and loss, and $2500 personal property aboard the boat. Surprisingly inexpensive!
  5. Mixed emotions on this, I don't like the idea that someone that doesn't even have a legal right to be here gets a driver's license (and did I hear right, that they are free?), but I also think that county officials have an obligation to be lawful, not make up their own laws.
  6. For the boat owners; what kind of insurance are you running on your rigs? I picked up that 18 ft fiberglass with 125 O/B this week, and want to put at least liability insurance on it so I don't get sued if something happens. The last boats I had were small aluminum boats that I didn't bother insuring. The last insured boat I had was a 20 footer back in the 90's that I had a bank loan on and had whatever the bank required at the time (no loan on the current boat). Low book value on current boat is $6800. I'll call my agent later today but thought I'd ask here for info. What liability limits? Collision or loss protection?
  7. Genesee river boat launch at Charlotte in the 90’s. Middle age guy with a brand spanking new Sea Ray open bow with an I/O, maybe 17 ft. He’s coming out and we’re in line to go in. Gets the boat on the trailer, pulls it out and parks right there at waters edge. Starts coiling his ropes, wiping down the boat while we’re all waiting or drop in. After a few minutes guys are bitching at him to clear the ramp. He took his sweet damn time putting everything away. He wasn’t really being a dick, he seemed clueless but was somewhat apologetic and I believe he said it was his first boat. He finally gets in the truck and starts to pull away. He never clipped it, and that nice new roller trailer promptly dumped his brand new boat on the ground just in front of the ramp. What a disaster for that guy.
  8. Sports injury? Makes me wince to see that!
  9. Being a life long Bills fan, I’ve erased the OJ era from my memory banks. He should stay off social media and fade away.
  10. Ouch! Man, that looks like it should be painful, no? I don’t know anything about shoulder injuries, can’t be fixed?
  11. This photo of a massasauga is from the SUNY ESF page. Doesn’t appear to be the same in the Engineer’s post.
  12. Sure that’s not a garter? There’s a bit of color/pattern variation to them and they can change at different ages. Those short little bluish lines in the pattern makes me wonder. I had a garter in one of the flower beds last year that coiled up on me and acted aggressive. Turned out she had a little brood of youngsters a couple of feet away. Pic is from last weekend in our garden. Kind of has similar short lines, but not a distinctive checkered pattern although there is some checkering.
  13. Doe at 100 yds with a .243. She started to bolt and fell over in 20 yds.
  14. Home! Now where’s my can of elbow grease?
  15. Having a flock of chickens makes raccoons and opossums my mortal enemy. But they’re undeniably cute when young. I told them to keep walking and ignore the coop, and they’ll live good lives.
  16. I’ve thought about putting decals or something on the windows as I keep a few feeders up on the deck. I want the windows for the view though and the decals look kind of crappy. I guess I’m hoping the few crashers will spread the word about the windows, lol.
  17. Was out in the driveway and look up to see these guys strolling by down the shoulder of the road. Walked side by side on the shoulder until they were out of sight. Kind of wobbly walking. Must be their first little adventure. Maybe 10 inches long not counting the tail. Cute when they’re young.
  18. The back of the house is half windows so unfortunately this happens a bit. Only found one bird dead in 10 years. Never had a hummer do it though. Cool bird.
  19. Was just going out with some nectar from the feeder and she flew up in my face. She flew a little wobbly at first, but zoomed off fast.
  20. Didn’t this happen to someone here recently? She crashed into the window and landed on the deck. I was sitting next to the window where she hit and she hit it hard. Keeping her out of the sun. I think she’s just stunned, she’s breathing fine and her eyes are open.
  21. That’s a sweet deal. Boat alone is worth $675 or more. Heck, I’d ask $1000 for that. I picked up a bare hull 12 ft sea nymph last year for $500. Which was older and not in as nice shape as your dad’s boat. Good luck with the sale, I think it’ll go fast!
