How about a four wheeler? A couple of years ago, wifey and I went out for the afternoon sit, and feeling kind of lazy, took the quad halfway back and parked next to our tower stand. I sat in that stand as I pretty much only had a doe tag left that I wasn't in a hurry to fill yet. She went on foot about another half mile to sit in that year's high percentage stand. About an hour after she gets settled, I was fooling around with a video camera and I hear a shot from her. Gets on the radio and tells me she just dropped her best buck by far. I was so stoked for her I came down the ladder like a fireman and started jogging toward the back property line to meet her. Got about 75% of the way there (winded as hell) and realized where the ATV was and thought "why the $%@*& didn't I take that?!" So she stayed with the deer after we dressed it out and took pics. I walked back to the ATV. Took that back to the house, got the tractor, went back for the deer to give it a bucket ride, and took that back to the house. I had two vehicles out there, and she still had to walk back to the house!! Sorry for the thread derail!

Congratulations Jim!

They’re an occasional to rare sighting around here. I’m with you on the no shoot policy. I’ve only taken one, and he hangs out in the living room with us now.

I wish I could take some credit for being such a reliable hunter, but in reality that's just how many does we have. I usually do the grandkid thing on Black Friday after four of us are trampling our woods for a week. We still see 10 does or more on each sit. There's been many times that we'll have 20 or more platooning out into the fields during the last hunting hour of the day. Yet, no tags. If I had to take a wild guess based on nothing scientific, I'd say we have 15-20 does for each buck. Life is good if you have antlers!!

Got that covered with one on each of the last few years. We do get a landowner's tag, but wife and daughter play the odds unless I give it over. Daughter is a non-resident so zero odds for her. I'm not looking to pile up does. Just looking to have choices for family without transferring the landowner tag. I save that every year to sit with one of the grandkids and take a deer without trading down on a young buck just to have the experience on getting a deer together. 3 for 3 on grandkid does.

Offseason shenanigans, Larry. Only 70 days 'til bow season!!

For the life of me I don't believe they are evaluating 8T correctly. I know there is variability within the unit but it's hard to believe when we counted well over 100 deer in a one mile ride to the end of our road on a late winter/early spring day this year. Over 100! Last year it was 80-ish on the same ride, the year before it was 50. I think they have it wrong.

Zingers is where it’s at.

I’m good for lawn battle as long as I can take a nap afterwards..

I drove through that on the way home from work. Was raining crazy hard when I was on 86. Cars were pulling over and stopping. Two single car accidents on opposite sides of 86 near Painted Post. Looked like each car hydroplaned and hit the divider. Glad you guys are good.

Now you keep that stuff at home Bill!

You just never know for sure these days...

TF could go for the trifecta. Good buck for the contest, backstraps for the dinner thread, and goiter pie for the weird foods thread.

Geez - nice bases on that guy!

Awesome stand nickname!! -
That sounds horrible, especially as a 6 year old kid - yikes! I have never had poison ivy in my life and am outdoors a lot. Even horse playing around with friends as a kid, they'd get it and I wouldn't. I assumed I'm immune to it, but never wanted to test that by rubbing some on me.

Maybe it's just a generational thing. I was born in 1959 and raised that giving a woman a hard time was simply not to be tolerated, doubly bad if it was an older woman. I get the modern women's equality thing though. Belo/Pigmy, I don't know your age, but I'm guessing early millennial? A lot of what was once considered respectful behavior is different from the boomer generation to the millennial generation. We probably seem like out of date relics!

I’ve got two Savages 17 hmr’s and they’re my most accurate rimfire guns. Like Pygmy says about head shots only. A body shot cuts them in half. Self-gutting if you do it right!

I'm starting to feel like I've been lucky!

Haha - I'm in the same boat as you. I tried the app - I immediately deleted it and deleted the aged photo. F that!
