  1. Do you brine in a metal pot? I was always told ceramic or glass. Not criticizing, just wondering.
  2. I think I may actually have a tap floating around somewhere. Probably in one of my boxes of ancient junk.
  3. Good times in the woods parties!
  4. Holy crap - you need to find a doctor who keeps his office in a better neighborhood if you've got old men pulling knives on you! No wonder you thought one of us was going to jump you at one of the get-togethers!!
  5. Good wildlife spotting on my way to work today. Saw toms and hens in a dozen fields, hit the brakes three times for deer in the road, had a fox dart across the road in front of me and saw an bald eagle perched in a tree. Wildlife activity much more than the last week or two. Must be peak activity time. According to the solunar tables, the next major period begins in two hours. Good luck ATBuckhunter, Belo, 2012Taco, and anyone else out today! I'll rejoin the ranks of the covert turkey army Saturday unless I come down with a mysterious ailment or something tonight. Cough, cough.
  6. Always in threes. Peggy Lipton, Doris Day, and now Conway. Had a bit of a crush on Lipton as I recall.
  7. Anybody use them in blinds?
  8. I must say I make a mean Wellington out of deer loin. I'll call you next time I whip some up - but you're on your own for the other thing!
  9. Had two of those in the back yard this morning. Love the looks of those birds!
  10. Good luck Dan, hope you get the bird you want. Enjoy the trip!
  11. I've got that same one. I can vouch that it's a great motor. Good price too!
  12. Back at the house. No birds seen or heard. Boo! Pretty sure I did my part this morning. Pouring buckets and some distant thunder. Stayed dry in the blind but loud in there.
  13. Went out around 3:30 this afternoon and put a blind in the woods at the bottom of a ridge where those toms came through this morning. Only about 400 yds from the back door. Gonna shoot him inna face tomorrow morning.
  14. The side of my garage door last September. About 5 inchs long.
  15. From another site. I think it’s Peter Fonda‘s mower.
  16. Cool hunt, but no bird. Set up on the inside corner of a field, two hen dekes out. Had a bird gobbling on the roost behind me about 5:10. About 5:20 he’s down and coming closer behind me gobbling over and over. Then he’s off to my left and inside the woods about 50 yds. I can see movement, but no clean look at the bird. He continues to move away inside the woods toward the cut corn field 300 yds away. Heard him gobbling up there til almost 6:00. Then 50 yds behind me I hear a couple of clucks and a boomer gobble that startled me. They moved in the same direction as the first bird, but stepped out in the field about 120 yds away. 4 hens, and then the tom. Gave a couple of clucks and the hens all looked over. The tom gobbles twice and I can see his swinging beard. Big bird. They all moved away along my field edge to the corn field. Couldn’t get either tom interested. Saw them on the horizon 500 yds away in the corn stubble on my way out at 7:30. I must have heard 50-60 gobbles between those two, but not a gobble after 6:10. Had things to do today, so it was a short sit, but I’ll be inside the woods 50 yds off that field tomorrow morning. Oh yeah, heard what sounded like a freaking roar from 100 or so yds in the woods when I was setting my dekes. Never heard that before, and I imagine it was a bobcat. Made the hair on my neck stand up! Short sit, but a cool sit this morning.
  17. Just watched her Tool cover. Wow!
