    Media coverage. I keep seeing and hearing on TV and radio that the corporations got "bailouts". I could have lost my voice screaming at the TV that they are loans. There are a lot of folks across the USA that were kept on the payrolls thanks to the PPP loans which in those cases are turned into grants, which then are paid to the employees. I know a number of people that kept getting a paycheck even though the business they worked for is or was shuttered. There's probably room for abuse though, there always is.

    Unless I've got it all wrong (and I'm pretty sure I don't), the stimulus package for business was in the form of PPP loans that are used to retain payroll/benefits and pay business operating expenses (lights, insurance, etc). If the business complies, the loan turns into a grant. If the business can't prove that it had the same payroll, the funds must be paid back. For the regular folks who got checks, there is no stipulation on what the $1200 is used for.

    No, it's easy as can be. Just put the roots in the ground and wait til next year, and the year after that, and so on. It's just that the first years never gave me more than a few sprigs at a time, not enough to do anything with. I let a few plants go to seed each year and they seem to be really filling in now a few years down the line. I don't have a very big spot that I devote to them. So good though!

    Got our first harvest last weekend with 14 fat asparagus spears (no pics). This is the fourth year and they are finally producing enough to bother making anything out of them. Looks like another 15 will be ready by the time I get home tonight. Freshly snipped from the garden is way, way better than the ones in the grocery store. On the grill tonight with olive oil mist and one of Bionic's spices. The question is which one?

    Walked out to the car to go to work and there's a longbeard 30 yards away in the back yard talking to our chickens. Figures. Blew out of there before I could snap a pic. Probably good that it flew off as it was 60 yards from that fox den.
