I agree. When this story first came out, I was of the mindset that they should get jail time. For a 17 year old, that doesn’t seem to have any other record, jail is just going to make him a worse person for the experience. 15 years is a damn long time to not be able to hunt. It’s going to be pretty shameful having to speak in public about his actions. I hope there’s some good counseling along the way too.

Got mine Monday and tried the potato topper last night - on potatoes of course. Thumbs up from my wife and I!

Alarm went off and I killed it and fell back asleep. Just got up but tired and sore from working outside the rest of the day yesterday. Not feeling it at the moment, but may go for the second half of the morning. Good luck to everyone this morning. Waiting for Bill and Cynthia’s hero shot with the gobbler they knock down in 45 minutes.

Congrats to all the turkey killers today! Quiet morning for me. I walked out at 4:25 on the starry morning and sat in the same spot as yesterday. I put the full spread of decoys out, and had first gobbles at 5:30. Distant gobbles, roosted in the woods behind me. Probably 300 yards. After flydown they moved off the in other direction. I tried calling them toward me, I couldn’t get them interested. Sat in a second spot with one feeding hen deke and had zero activity. No birds seen today. Called it quits early to get some stuff done around the homestead but should be back at it tomorrow morning.

Up and at ‘em. Like Epstein, those gobblers aren’t going to kill themselves!

Congratulations to everyone that connected this morning. Some really nice birds. The weather turned out to give us a beautiful Spring day. Back out in the morning!

Had five hens fly down into the brush 100 yds out between me and the Tom around 6. I saw his white head in the brush near them. They milled around but disappeared on me after 20 mins or so. Haven’t heard a gobble since fly down.

I’ve had gobbles since 5:20. He’s horny, over 50 gobbles so far, I quit counting, lol. He’s roosted 250 yds away on the other side of the field.

Up and at ‘em! Looks the rain is mostly done here.
