  1. I'm registered, and I vote in every election, from local to national. I'm registered independent, which means I don't get a vote in private party primaries.
  2. Woah... glad your boy's well and fine, adk... I can only imagine the scare. ---- Wish I was out in the woods on what feels to be a perfect deer day, but co-worker screwed me over, and I'll be playing desk jockey today instead. Maybe tomorrow morning... Good luck! Looking forward to some harvest posts! I'm all thumbs when using Tapatalk
  3. Congrats on the doe, SD! I'm all thumbs when using Tapatalk
  4. If there's a deer in your stand tonight, be careful. It might be hunting you... All kidding aside - good luck to all who head out tonight!
  5. Tonight's "please go to sleep" beer. I'm all thumbs when using Tapatalk
  6. Welcome! Very much looking forward to learning from you...
  7. I have a pair of Millenium hang-ons that I hang for the season and use ladder sticks to climb into. These are my "permanent" stands, and I've only moved them if the deer show me good reason to. The cam receiver makes these very easy to set up. They're a little too bulky and heavy for a mobile set up. I also have a ladder stand, but it's more difficult to manage, and is truly a permanent season stand. For the run-and-gun set-ups, I have a Lone Wolf hand climber, but as mentioned earlier, it's difficult to get set up easily because I have to look for the "perfect tree." But it is so light to carry... I'll likely be using the last stand I own, a Lone Wolf hang-on with a set of four climbing sticks for true run-and-gun set-ups. I also bought the hang on strap so I won't be dealing with having to wrap a strap around a tree one-handed while holding the stand upright with the other. Looked a lot easier in the video. 20' up, not so much. I'm all thumbs when using Tapatalk
  8. Sad news to read, FL. I hope you all find comfort together. I'm all thumbs when using Tapatalk
  9. Could it be a porcupine? I had a porcupine shred up a branch on my apple tree. I'm all thumbs when using Tapatalk
  10. Wishing in was in the woods, but sitting on the couch. Only sound other than the rain was the hundreds of grackles that just flew over the tree canopy. I opened the front door, and thought I was in Hitchcock's film... I'm all thumbs when using Tapatalk
  11. Looks like a ninja... I'm all thumbs when using Tapatalk
  12. Can't thank you enough for the time and the insight, grampy. Quote of the day, for me: "Let the deer teach you. The deer will teach you." I'm all thumbs when using Tapatalk
  13. Nice doe, Predate! I'm all thumbs when using Tapatalk
  14. Did a little mid-day scouting w/ grampy. Learned quite a bit. Might sit this evening, but by the looks of it, the wife is making other plans. Good luck to all out, and heading out, especially to the youth! I'm all thumbs when using Tapatalk
  15. Enjoying a cup of coffee, and watching the baby boy roll around on the floor. Meeting grampy for coffee in a couple hours, and might sit this evening before the heavy rains tomorrow. I'm all thumbs when using Tapatalk
  16. Ripping off those posted signs. So bizarre. If they really wanted to get rid of them, you'd think they'd pull the posts out of the ground, or knock them over too. Weird. Anyone looking at those posts knows what they are. I'm all thumbs when using Tapatalk
  17. Thoroughly special sentiments. Thank you for sharing... Hope she gets a shot at one at your brother's! I'm all thumbs when using Tapatalk
  18. Live from the lawn!!! Looks like I had a visitor last night. Nothing moving in daylight up on the mountain, as far as I can tell. Finished stacking my winter wood, and now running that mower. Sweating... I'm all thumbs when using Tapatalk
  19. I try not to mix politics and love. Beer mixes both up for me, though... I'm all thumbs when using Tapatalk
  20. Very sad news to read, Dan. Sending you folks my best, and I'll honor him in the way you mentioned.
  21. The site admin is aware... It appears to be an issue with how the latest iPhone iOS update and the site "talk" through the Tapatalk app. You can chime in on the convo here:
  22. Splitting the difference? Democratic Assemblyman (majority) Stirpe, Jr. just yesterday introduced AB 8721 - Relates to allowing for the hunting with crossbows by certain people during a special longbow hunting season. https://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/bills/2017/A8721
  23. Thinking the same exact thing. Forecast is a bit depressing. I'm all thumbs when using Tapatalk
  24. My father came up to visit the lil' boy this morning, and he said deer were out all the way here, including a buck crossing my driveway. Sounds like they're up and moving in 4J, K, & L. I'm all thumbs when using Tapatalk
