  1. I'm not home at the moment, so the exact model no. escapes me, but this one is pretty close: https://www.wilsonamplifiers.com/wilson-db-pro-4g-cell-phone-booster-kit-refurbished-460103r/ The reason we didn't go with the AT&T booster is that there is no, ummm... exterior antennae connected to an amplifier. They had only small antennae attached to the "amplifier" which also had the interior antennae. If my phone wasn't picking up the signal in the house, I was doubtful that their device would. Thing looked like a cheap wireless router, and the online reviews were just as bad. This Wilson does its job, for certain. Money well spent, because the wife didn't want to live anywhere she wouldn't be able to call out for help - I agreed... Basically, you position (according to the limits within the instructions) the amplifier in a convenient location, and run a cable to the interior antennae, which is positioned in the house for best reception throughout. You place the exterior (which we mounted in a window) antennae facing the direction of your closest cell tower; your wireless provider can help you with positioning.
  2. We're in a similar situation, but after speaking with our wireless provider rep, we decided to purchase a third-party booster from Wilson. It bumped our maybe one dot 4G, to full 4G. I'll likely start saving for an LTE booster in the next few months. The only issue I have is that the interior, suction-cup antennae holder falls off the window four or five times a year. It's loud, and will likely break one of these days. A more permanent mount on the exterior (if we had a second story and eaves, instead of hips) would be a better option. The booster provides reception for our cell phones (we have no landline, and that's a whole different story...), as well as a "hot spot" for our Internet access. We're on a limited plan of 15GB per month, so we don't stream Internet like we did when we lived in a city. Books, magazines, and conversation have been better anyway... The Internet can sometimes drag a little, but I think that has more to do with the hot spot, than the cell booster. Link to Wilson: https://www.wilsonamplifiers.com/medium-sized-home-solution-kits/
  3. Reads like a great day for you two! Congrats!
  4. Well... Enjoy the beer! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Undoubtedly a fine beer. Not as flavorful as say Lunch, or Dinner, but truly refreshing with that signature Maine Beer Co. whatever it is (deliciousness)... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. She might have a place down there... She works up in Albany (for Tesla), but is in NYC quite a bit. She's from Bellmore on LI. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. My good buddy drove down from Freeport a couple of weeks ago for a gig. He always brings us something good to drink. This here Woods and Waters was brewed to commemorate the Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument. While I have not been, the fresh, clean, and crisp flavor of this IPA stirs up a bit of desire in my hiking legs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Huh... I know a young lady that just arrived in Barbados today. No joke. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Real fine looking rifle, too... Looks like there's some elegance in simplicity there.
  10. 90 days from enactment. The Senate will pass the bill tonight, and then deliver it to the Gov. After that, the Gov has 10 days (not including Sundays/holidays) to sign or veto. But... In all likelihood, 90 days from tomorrow. I haven't read the language, but there might also be a delay if the overseeing agency fumbles around with regulatory implementation. 11. Ride sharing (uber) - yes. crossbows - no. antler restrictions - no. absolutely friggin' exhausted - yes.
  12. The Senate incorporated the language into their version of the budget, but the Assembly did not agree with the language and left it out. It was only a "one-house" budget item. The whole damn thing fell apart last evening, so all bets are off, but according to the Ways and Means Chairman during floor debate, the ARs will not be in the final budget... But again, the whole damn thing blew up, which means all scattered pieces are again live.
  13. Ahh... Thanks, folks! I just saw this thread. I spent the day in Nashville (and the pair before) and caught the Tedeschi Trucks Band at the Ryman Auditorium with good friends.
  14. Consistently impressed by your talents, wooly, and it's a pleasure to see and read about them. Friggin' cool, man.
  15. Police, paid sharpshooters, archers: How Upstate NY communities kill excess deer http://www.newyorkupstate.com/outdoors/2017/03/paid_sharpshooters_police_archers_shoot_excess_deer_in_upstate_ny_communities.html The article provides info on each approach and uses cull numbers and costs for the towns that choose one of the approaches. Because I'm a bow hunter, I'll include the following:
  16. While the bill isn't likely to get passed in the Assembly this year, it's not technically dead, especially when you consider that there are majority sponsors in both chambers. The bill has some legs under it, but my sense is that it's sprint is short-lived. For now... Priorities in Albany can change quicker than the weather. The crossbow bill has more legs (more lobbying money behind it), and takes longer strides each session. I'm unsure if it will make it past the Assembly this year, but folks are pitching it as a revenue generator, and that concept looks mighty bright in the looming shadow of Federal cuts.
  17. Best of luck and times to ya!
  18. Took him five minutes to get out of the way. He was PO'd... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  20. FYI from National Geographic: http://www.natgeomaps.com/trail-maps/pdf-quads National Geographic has built an easy to use web interface that allows anyone to quickly find any 7.5 minute topo in the continental U.S.A. for downloading and printing. Each topo has been pre-processed to print on a standard home, letter size printer. These are the same topos that were printed by USGS for decades on giant bus-sized presses but are now available in multi-page PDFs that can be printed just about anywhere. They are pre-packaged using the standard 7.5 minute, 1:24,000 base but with some twists: Page 1 is an overview map showing the topo in context Pages 2 through 5 are the standard USGS topo cut in quarters to fit on standard printers Hillshading has been added to each page of the PDF to help visualize the topography
