I don't think it is just social media anymore. Seems to be the mood of the country. -

It isn't just here but lately it seems to be more often. One has to be VERY careful of what they post and how they post it or someone is libel to challenge one's intelligence and way of thinking because it doesn't agree with theirs. -

I agree but some can't resist the urge to take cheap shots at ones that don't think or act like them. Good luck in 1C -

In all your wisdom they don't "gotta" do nothing. I don't think any of the topics on this forum were started with the intent of starting controversy, but they seem to always end up that way. Wouldn't surprise me to see the entire forum just up and disappear because of it. -

That probably won't happen because you have to show ID to get vaccinated and it is not required to vote

Well that's a wrap for 2021. Beautiful afternoon in the woods. Calm, sunny, and 49°. Didn't see a thing but a bunch of squirrels. Not sure yet about 2020. Happy New Year's everyone and stay healthy and safe. -
... And that commercial immediately brought to mind our resident highway dept. Least little bit of snow they are out sucking up that overtime money keeping the roads "safe". Hardly ever see them on straight time. They must be getting hungry this year. Another drain on taxpayer dollars.

Without a doubt the best money someone could spend. I haven't spent much on anything I could add to a list except my comfortable tree stand seat -

Made it out for afternoon sit until dark. Got ready to climb down and two big deer came into my right about thirty yds. Too dark to even tell what they were let alone take a shot. I am not liking this late season at all. -
If you want a good time grab a .22 rifle, a caller and look for dens. I AM NOT promoting this caller. It can be done with any caller. No need for a shotgun or decoy like this guy uses. The big thing is to wait until they clear the hole, so they don't fall back in when shot. Shortest video I could find:

Made it out this afternoon for my 44th sit with the bow. Second sit of the "holiday" season. Woke up this morning to two inches of snow that has since melted. To top things off it started to rain around 4:00 so everything is wet. Water laying everywhere in all the fields and a lot of mud. Found out my Rockies leak but at least I did see a nice big doe head up the hill towards me. She stopped @ 60 yds or so and decided to take a turn so no shot. First deer I have seen during the day since 12/12 and only catching them on cams at night. I would love to bag the deer season and get some traps out, but the ground here is just saturated, so it makes no sense. -
Back to the original topic: Let's face it there is no rhyme nor reason to any of this. I personally know of a family of five that have all been vaccinated and decided to get tested because they were planning on visiting relatives over the holidays. Lo and behold one of the five tested positive so all five have to quarantine. Just yesterday my daughter called to tell us that her and her husband are sick and got tested. Both have the exact same symptoms. After two different types of tests each with the same results he has covid and she is negative. He is up and around after a couple of days and says the effects were no worse than a bad cold. Best part of it is they believe they got sick from someone visiting from out of state that felt "off" but not really sick. Said person flew back home on Sunday and was back to work on Monday without getting tested and her husband has tested positive. Two of my daughters' touch hole relation have not had a vaccination, have had covid twice, and continue to go about their business with no concerns. One of the two stands to lose his six-figure job working for a company under federal contract because he refuses to get the shot. Another relative and wife who refuse to get the shot (along with their adult children) remain healthy and unaffected even though their unvaccinated adult children and grandchildren have all had covid and visited on a regular basis. Seems to me it really doesn't make a difference whether one gets the vaccination or not. It is not preventing people from getting covid and at best will reduce the severity one could experience. Like one contagious disease expert said in a recent interview. Vaccinated or not we are all likely to contact covid. How each person reacts to the virus will vary from person to person. Until they develop a shot or pill that can cure or prevent covid we are all at the mercy of the virus and can only hope for the best outcome if infected. To get vaccinated or not should remain a personal choice.

News Report: 'Holiday Deer Hunt' starts Dec. 26; offers extra week of hunting - WENY News Despite the extra week now added to the hunting season, the NYSDEC is not expecting a substantial deer harvest during this period. The late bow and muzzle loader season only accounts for 8 percent of the total deer harvest numbers each year.
