  1. It's a fatty cyst. No worries if you eat the animal.

Gotcha. Me too. Almost got shot by one 3 years ago on a buck I was letting pass. Unfortunately I had to finished the deer off after his poor shot and fill me tag. The guy had the nerve to argue with me on my own property he was trepassing on that I killed his deer. When I called the DEC he split in a hurry. Attached is the deer I was letting go. Have a great season this year.
  5. Tough one, I can kinda see it at 3.5 but more like 2.5. Very health animal and is eating well.

    Awesome. Nice footage. enjoyed that.
  8. I hunt because I enjoy the outdoors, the sport, and the table fare it provides. What I harvest is no ones business, I don't brag about the bucks I shoot and I've been very blessed with what hunting has provided me over the 30 years in the game. I will go out of my way to congratulate any other ethical hunter on a legally killed animal. I was brought up not to judge others' decisions (in life or sport) and my other hunter friends know that. With that said they will never judge what I decide to harvest. Yes, I fill my freezer every year with a fine animal. It's my choice if I decide to let a young deer pass buck or doe and it's my family that will be eating the animal not the person who is passing judgement in what I harvested. At the end of the day just do it the way you feel is right, ethical and legal.
  9. I had chase activity yesterday afternoon also. Had this broken wide 6 chase a doe around the field grunting. Then a spike came over next to my stand and was rubbing saplings. it was a good afternoon.
  10. When my step dad passed he left me a Belgium Browning "Sweet Sixteen". I love the gun.
  11. Savage 110 in 30.06, Nikon 3x9-40 scope. Remington Accutips 165gr.
  12. Just settled in again and that 4 walked into the field. Never heard me come in. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
  13. agreed. driving back after a quick bite to eat and watched a 4 pointer make a scrape from the road on an adjacent prpoerty. 12:30 pm he was on his feet.
  14. I had the same thing happen to me 2 days ago. The thing came right at me and I lifted my bow to defend myself. I veered off quickly when it saw me raise my arms with the bow. Scared the hell out of me because it came out of nowhere straight at my face. Weird. Maybe it heard me walking gently and though it was a squirrel of something.
  15. +2. After almost getting shot by a trespasser 3 years ago take it down. i have zero tolerance for it.
  16. One last note... all the apples trees did great this year. loaded.
  17. agreed. Give them a call. They helped me in the past on recovery.
  18. Set a trail camera up nearby. That would be interesting,. I don't have a guess.
  19. Yeah. He's all setup. The well has been drilled and put a septic in. He has a couple of stands setup and the deer are holding in all the cut down stuff. I told him they're run for that cover when the pressure get put on. We've been up the road where the big fields are and they are LOADED with deer. Saw some nice horns there. Drop him a line sometime as I'm sure he'll be glad to hear from you. I probably will get up there but i primarily hunt behind my house.
  20. Umm.. one second let me take a peek...no idea
  21. Thanks. Crazy isn't it. That deer dressed 155lbs. Geno we have a mutual friend. I've been up to the property you sold a few times this year. Nice woods there and scouting has been promising.
  22. I'm with you Jerry and plenty of times I've heard those comments. Fortunately I usually harvest a good buck annually and have no reservations filling a DMP. One year I shot a nice wide 6 point (2.5yo) and another hunter said he would've passed that with the "next year he would of been huge" (maybe jealous? who knows). Later that same year the same hunter shoots a spike and says he wanted to fill he freezer. I congratulated him on his harvest without commenting on his previous remarks.
