  1. Went with 2 turkeys this year. One store bought and one wild. People were amazed at how different the wild one tasted but they liked it as much. Good turkey day to all.
  2. Funny but true. The are reluctant to enter the woods. I had 4 does practically rigning my front door bell.
  3. Nice looking deer WNY. He'll really be a stud next year if he makes it. Good luck with him.
  4. I get a little unsettled but not much. I'm carrying a firearm that will take down most any North American game. I just follow tack after tack. But as Elmo said... please don't shoot at a moving light !!
  5. I can relate for sure... posted my issue this hunting season with a trespasser on my property. see deer hunting section... trespasser situation. get the authorities involved. I did.
  6. Saying a prayer for our fellow hunter... hope he's ok.
  7. Awful. I went with the HSS product this year after wearing just a strap. Very comfortable and doesn't restrict a bit. Very happy with it.
  8. Way to go. Good thinking stopping him. Congrats to your buddy.
  9. Me too. I'll be out till around noon. Then some nice JD on ice and food, food, food. Some venny sausage too !!
  10. Usually a 2 year turn around and especially if it's on or near the original property.
  11. They very will could be. It might be his son. I had an 8 that I took in 2007 then took another 8 in 2009 that looked VERY simllar.
  12. Mix it with the bacon as HJ said... it's AWESOME and give it a little more fat. Nothing better for burgers !!! Enjoy.
  13. Saw a fawn playing in a puddle jumping up and down and pawing at it looking at it's reflection. Thought that was cool and was told that they do that sometimes... like a kid.
  14. One more thing... that deer would have to make his rubs on the tree behind the hunter. LOL
  15. I'll tell you what.... there is no other buck going to even think of taking him on or even messing with him. I'd love to know what it dressed too. It looks well over 200lbs for sure.
  16. Noticed the same thing today. Walking a low lying ridge by a swamp, saw a nice 4 chasing a doe. The low ceiling and maybe a little lack of pressure has them up. Good info for all to note.
  17. Yeah.. those things are nasty if you mess with them. If you decide to mount the buck, have the taxidermist leave the quills in. Makes for an interesting story.

I'm with BGF too. Those carts work great. I've been using the Deer Handle which works for me. I'm close to the 50 number too. Hate having to take or go back for a cart. Good luck.
  19. Congrats on a great buck. Great story too. Protect that bucket !!
  20. Suill.... would've done the same thing if someone had taken a deer that I put a bad shot on. I would've actually given the guy the deer if he approached me differently instead of getting in my face all aggressive and stuff. He was in the wrong and tried to spin it like I did something wrong because he shot first. Just a wierd season for me for sure.
  21. I'd mount him... nice bushytail !!
  22. See if you can find out who owns the unposted property and ask for permission. Your borderline safe with the rifle unless permission is granted. May need to go to the county clerk office to find who owns it. Hope you tag him.
  23. Crazy. I hope you catch up with him and finishh him off.
  24. Too funny SG...update on this. I asked some of my neighbors if they noticed his truck... I find out that this guy rides the roads checking fields for deer and has been seen before. This deer was in my field and I watched him feed then bed for almost 40 minutes from around 3:00 on. No doubt the guy saw the rack from the road, pulled over and parked at a house that is for sale that the prior owners had left. The DEC have been notified and are looking for this guy. As NY Hillbilly stated... I was forced to tag out on this deer but really didn't want this s*um bag to take it.
