Shot him with a TC Pro Hunter with my 338WM barrel. Recovered the slug to boot. Doing a half body pedestal mount to show off the body size. Sent from my LM-G850 using Tapatalk

Ok. Here's what I posted. An AMAZING night last night on stand. Everyone knew when I shot a bear 2 hours into the hunt it was either a color phase or a monster black. Well. I shot a monster black!! Heard him coming from behind me. When he looked thru my brush blind at 3 feet I thought "Whoa" but when he put his head up over the log at 2 feet I about " you know what almost happened in my shorts" He knew something was wrong and ran 10 yards, turned broadside and I dropped him where he stood. Biggest bear ever taken at this outfitter. No scale but being told 450 to 500lbs. Over 80" nose to tail. I'm still in shock and feeling so blessed. Truly enjoying camp, bunch of great guys I'm with and having a ball. Sent from my LM-G850 using Tapatalk

I've been involved with the NWTF for 30 plus years. That part about inbreeding is new to me but Damn that makes a ton of sense. All the trap and transferring we did back in the day spread genetics huge but we don't do that much any More. Damn that's a great point!! Thanks. Sent from my LM-G850 using Tapatalk

As far as I know there are no commercially available silencers. Sent from my LM-G850 using Tapatalk

Not a silencer. A suppressor. Just lowers the decibels to a level not harmful. Still loud just not damaging. Sent from my LM-G850 using Tapatalk

Hoping you guys can help me. Looking to lease some hunting property. Any help in links or if you know a place looking to lease would be appreciated. No more than 4 guys, not really setting a min on acres or max on cost yet. Want to see what's out there. Thanks in advance. Sent from my LM-G850 using Tapatalk

Awesome day in the woods this morning. At sunrise/fly down I called in a VERY vocal hen to 10 yards. Her and I worked in 2 BIG long beards and 3 Jake's. The plan was for her to stay with me till the long beards got close. She forgot the plan and when they got 60 yards she couldn't help herself, she ran to them. Lol. The Jake's came over to about 20yds but I don't shoot Jake's. My choice, if you do that's fine. So. I swing around trying to get ahead but caught the tail end of the flock. Set up again. Put my patience cap on and waited. I called every 10 to 15 minutes and 1 hour later BOOM! Long beard gobble behind me. I swing around the tree, set up, see him crossing a Greenfield towards me. Hit him with a cluck n purr and he roars at me. Swings to my left, got up on a hill, in the sun and decided he looked beautiful there. He spent the next hour plus on that hill, spitting, drumming and gobbling. Closest I got him was 48 yds. Yes. My gun and I can kill turkeys at that range but I wanted him at a certain point and I never feel the "need" to squeeze the trigger. That's me. Well. He's being stubborn so my plan is let him walk off. I move in and call him back. Plan starts off great. He leaves gobbling. I let him go. Then. The Jake gang came. You would think the LB would run but NOPE. The Jake's are yelping and gobbling and he turns and goes right at them. Cue HUGE Gobbler/Jake fight!!! Fighting purrs, aggressive yelps, clicks and gobbles. I think my diaphragm call almost fell out of my open mouth staring in awe. Lol. If I'm not mistaken those Jake's are still chasing him further off the property. Lol. Great day, one of the best I've had in years. Trigger squeeze not required. Lol. Hit or miss. Shot a nice 3 year old opening weekend. Text book hunt. Buddy hunting same farm never heard a bird. Last weekend we switched. Here's his 2 year. Hoping this weekend we both kill. Good luck to all still hunting. Sent from my LM-G850 using Tapatalk

1st time out this spring hunting, May 2nd. Called in this 2-3year old. Great hunt. He got lonely about 730. Worked him the 150 yds to a load of 5s. 21lbs plus. 9" beard. 14/16 and 15/16 spurs. Hammered at every call I made. Was enjoying every gobble but had to force myself to stop calling to much so he would stop strutting and come to me. Lol. 35 minutes from start to boom. I used a Fiddlehead pot call and he just couldn't resist. Sent from my LM-G850 using Tapatalk
