  1. That is above and beyond my friend!!! Kudos to you!!!! Impressive and that paid off for you... I hope you have the 1100 exclusively...
  2. Looks like Sept 9th was the day the velvet came off... LOL...
  3. Just think they broad stroke things to much at times... Send out more surveys if they don't want to put boots on the ground... For me, I try not to shoot young bucks... but when the oldest buck you are seeing is 2.5 years old and they are VERY elusive... it is tough to have hope of seeing him... I fill the doe tags I am given... Use my rifle tag during BP to shoot another doe.. but without extra DMP tags I highly doubt the 2 or 3 does I am taking make much of a difference...
  4. True... it is just a few farms.. but I can't be the only one seeing this..
  5. Oh... I hunt 4Y and 4Z.... by the way..
  6. They have ZERO clue about deer herd #'s.... I run 6 cameras 6 months of the year... see 10-15 does per buck every year... nothing changes... idiots....
  7. thinking no matter the weapon, at whatever distance a 3" group happens that's it... Now... for me personally... I will not shoot a deer past 35 yards because in my thinking, if the deer takes a step my mind won't react fast enough and it will be a wounding shot.. Farthest deer I've shot with a bow is 32 yards... with a rifle it was 280 yds.. furthest I've shot an animal is a Gemsbok in Africa laser ranged at 309 yds..
  8. The NWTF does this a lot as well... And the NWTF does a lot for our wildlife as well...
  9. Another way to think of it is predator control... Black bears kill a lot of moose calves (and deer).... So it might not be your thing, but be glad there are guys out there doing it... In case you ever want to hunt moose... Just saying...
  10. After the past 4 deer I've killed with the bow and not being able to see my arrows (can't be because I am older (52) must be my arrows are flying so much faster LOL) I bought Nocturnals... got the practice nocks as well so everything should be good to go... I'll let you know after I shoot them at a deer..
  11. Check the side by comparison of the Traeger and the one I posted...
  12. Anyone use a pellet smoker??? I have a Master Built electric smoker, but thinking of adding one of these to my patio's this fall... https://www.campchef.com/woodwind.html
  13. My farm is heavily hunted... we don't get bucks more than 2.5 years old during the season... This is the biggest buck I have on camera... like the blind in the back ground... Hoping for a 20-25 yd shot max at him..
  14. Just went through all of the ones I have up... Check the straps.. give them a wiggle and a jump... cleared shooting lanes.. etc.. last weekend...
  15. Very nice!! Hope you get a chance at him!!!!!
  16. Can't wait to see all the pics!!!!!!
  17. Checking my cameras this coming weekend... Can't wait.. hoping the bucks have shown up... 2 weeks ago I got all the blinds set up, all the stands checked, secured and shooting lanes cut... just waiting for the season to get here... can't wait!!! Anyone else all set??? figure 6 weeks before opener was good to be done with....
  18. Season is 6 weeks away... Just was surprised by the difference a year makes... but they will summer where they feel it is best... But hoping they come back to my area during bow season... No small bucks will be harmed from my bow.. LOL
  19. Wow... checking 6 cameras... nothing like last year.. had 6 shooters on camera.... this year, nothing over a 4 point... Boy am I ever hoping they will show up after getting hard horned... tons of does... Hell, 1 camera had 507 triggers in 2 weeks... only 1 trigger was a coyote.. the rest were deer... VERY happy to see low coyote #'s.... Anyone else having the same issue???
  20. Want to move 1 ladder stand... Set up another... and 2 ground blinds... but we are doing that this month, the 19th... that way it is all set for the opener..
  21. Can't remember if it is a doe with a fawn or two fawns... the one in the "pic" is a 4 pt though... will be safe unless my wife see's him within bow range... but for me, he'll get a pass...
