The helpful part of being 2 hours away from my cameras I guess.... Easier to stay away with them a long ride away... But Black berries will be ripe on the farm soon, so I'll be out there picking them.... Just need to not over check the cameras... maybe I'll pick a different camera every time I go out to pick... LOL

Your cameras.... I put mine out 3 weeks ago... Not going to check them till the end of this month... Trying to not check them a lot... Setting up two more when I do go at the EOM. Then thinking as we get closer I will check every other week..... But it is tough to stay away!!! LOL

Even in Ma. we can put out food, supplements, attractants up to 2 weeks before the season... Always thought it was odd for NY to make it illegal... so thank God for farmers crops!!! LOL

For fake antlers we already have something similar... different fake racks... LOL... Breast implants.... We don't seem to mind those fake racks... LOL

Sadly, I think a lot of it gets "personal".... look at the crossbow debate.... My god you would think they talked about each others mothers some of them... For me... I hunt the way I want to hunt.... I use a compound bow but a single shot rifle.. If someone wants to tote around a cross bow, it doesn't effect me personally.. But I won't be berated by a stick bow shooter.. if someone wants to shoot a bolt action rifle with a 4 round mag, have at it.. again.. doesn't effect me.. But flint lock hunters shouldn't attack me.. follow the rules, be a sportsmen, have good ethics... if you don't like something, say it but don't berate someone else for liking it if it is legal.. seems simple but as we've all seen here... not always the case.. I am guilty of not following it myself... As stated earlier, I have a mirror and I know my history, I'm trying to never judge anyone.....

I think if you express your opinion and are not insulting someone else that is fine... Judging others because you don't like something is completely different.. Writing "I don't like HF hunting" is one thing... Writing "Anyone hunting a HF area is not a hunter" is judging someone... When you prove you are perfect in every way, then you can judge others... Till then, we are all better off with our opinions and not trying to make others conform to what someone believes to be "correct" in their mind... I don't like Dodge trucks... So is it OK for me to say "Anyone driving a Dodge is an idiot"??? Or anyone hunting with more than a single shot lacks shooting skills??? Of course not... Do people do it... Yup... Sad... I have mirrors in my house... I have a memory of my actions in my past... I'll not pass judgement on others based on those two things alone.. LOL... If we all did that there would be a lot more getting done in the name of hunting... But a good chunk of hunters/sportsmen bash segments of our society and the anti's play on those battles... We will not survive as islands.... A good phrase to remember..

Got to remember, it's their job to push the stuff they get paid to push.. without it, they would be working regular jobs.. I don't fault any of them..

Personally.. I think Ralph and Vicki are the best hunting couple.. they were hunting together before videoing their hunts.. She met him at an Archery shop he worked at... They are friends of friends and have met them several times.. They are genuine as anyone I have ever met, what you see on TV is exactly how they are in person..

peppers aren't liking the rain... they look worse then when I put them in 4 weeks ago.. the rest are doing good... 1500 square feet of garden... this is about 2/3 of it..

Always is to have fun and enjoy the time out there.. but these are the others. 1.) get my wife a deer again.. 2.) shoot the biggest buck I have on camera (I have the past two years) 3.) Fill all my doe tags 4.) fill my freezer

Oh Goody.... Made my appt. at N. E. Ortho for what appears to be leading to my 4th knee surgery tomorrow... I can't wait to pay for this one... ARGGGG... Seriously, WTF.. Trying to get everything paid off and I get hit with this??? Trying to get healthier and I can barely walk never mind exercise... Just frustrating... Need to get this done and behind me... Need to be up and running for bow season and my Kentucky late season hunt....

Think it still all boils down to what ever you like to do, as long as it is legal, no one should bash you for it... If you want to hunt public land with a stick bow, great... if you want to hunt HF with a rifle... cool... whatever trips your trigger.. if you don't like it, don't do it. Everyone should just enjoy life as you see fit, don't hurt anyone, keep it legal and don't judge others... None of us are perfect and there is only 1 judge in the end... ;-)

My first Grandchild!!! So excited!!! My perfect angel, her name is Aurelia (say Oh reel eeeah), born yesterday, 7lbs 3 oz and 22" long.... Mom (My daughter) is doing well... Dad is jumping in like a pro... VERY proud of them... And VERY excited to start spoiling her!!!!! Did I mention she was perfect??? LOL My other S-I-L asked "When does she get her first gun?" my reply was "4".. LOL.. Her father says "I figured that would be when".. 2 years old she will be getting a fishing pole though!!!

I have the same issue... The only call I can use is the Primos Elk calls withe the palate plate on top.. It's a bit higher pitched than a standard turkey call but kills birds every year... See the pic... if you need more info let me know...

What about a guided out of state hunt??? You do nothing but either follow someone or sit in a stand/blind they set for you.... Is this now considered unethical or not hunting???? How far are we going to try and push this??? I'm not saying you personally feel like that.. I'm asking the group..

I am sure there are HF places that aren't ethical.... But I am 110% sure there are some that have large tracts of land where you never see a fence... The fact you would not hunt it doesn't mean it isn't ethical... It just means it's not your style... Why bash the ethical places??? If someone wants to legally hunt a deer there, why should it matter to you??? I don't change my own oil, I go to a place and pay someone to do the work for me.. if you do does that make me an unethical truck owner???? LOL

OK.. as stated I am not a doing and HF deer hunts, but posting pics of venison farming deer and trying to pass it off as a HF hunting preserve says more about you than it does the HF industry... lets keep things real if you are trying to prove your point... Preserve animals have very little contact with humans... they are raised wild but in a limited area... Again.. I would not do a HF deer hunt but that is a personal choice for me to make.. But don't post pics of venison farm deer and try o make people think that is remotely close to a HF hunting outfit..

The other idea for thinking why people do this is for people living in the city.... no chance to hunt locally... You either try to scout and hunt at the same time, which I can only guess the success rate is low single digits, pay to go on a guided hunt... with an average of 25-33% success rate... Or, go to a HF area, pay 2-4 times an outfitted wild hunt but have 100% success rate... In terms of $$$, the HF hunting might be the best bang for their buck in their minds... Personally... I couldn't live in a city like that.. But just throwing out an idea where the idea makes more sense..
