  1. I'm boycotting the NFL for LIFE!!!! They don't deserve a second chance. Besides all the hypocrisy is ridiculous.
  2. I was not aware they would cover intentional abuse. Seems prudent such abuse would best be excluded.
  3. I don't believe any scientist denies there is a climate. There are people on the other side that are guilty of manipulating data. However the majority of scientists simply state the climate is changing and there is no scientific conclusion as to why it is changing. There is certainly no scientific evidence to support the proposed government intervention that claims to be the solution. But there is a great deal of economic evidence to support the damage that will occur if the government "solutions" are implemented.
  4. I have nothing but Leupold scopes on my rifles. I'm just very happy with them. There is no hypocrisy involved if you understand what is going on here. This whole thing is about getting other countries to stop putting tariffs on American made products. Trump wants to level the playing field for American companies so they can export more of their goods overseas. Other countries add tariffs to American goods, to keep their citizens from buying them and that's OK. But if the US does the same thing, that's bad? The US media just loves to make leftists feel Trump is doing everything wrong. The solution to this tariff problem, which Trump is trying to impose, is the elimination of all tariffs in every country. The US has been getting screwed by foreign tariffs ever since it agreed to accept them after WWII, so other countries could get back on their feet. It's past time to end that policy. Trump gave these other countries the chance to eliminate tariffs on US goods they import. They refused. So he carried out his ultimatum. Trump knows the US has the advantage here, as we have the most resources. In very little time you will see the elimination of tariffs on American goods by countries that don't want a US tariffs on their goods. It's a chess game and Trump knows better than any other world leader how to play it, because he takes the politics out of the game and plays for business. And if you've ever watched a chess match, you see very slow, methodical moves, that take time to implement, and are done with thoughts about 4 or 5 moves down the road. Have patience folks. Support Trump's moves now and you will soon see the benefits.
  5. Wildcat, nobody implied science was a liberal conspiracy. What is being said is, agenda driven people can cherry pick, manipulate and corrupt science data to push their agenda. That is what is at the heart of the entire climate change debate. No scientist thinks the climate isn't changing, but a great many of them are not in agreement with those who believe it's man made, and regulation by government will fix it. Considering the solutions presented by climate hysterics could very well destroy the economy in America, it's no wonder people are asking for more peer reviewed scientific proof.
  6. Giraffe in Africa often become nuisance animals that need to be culled. The meat isn't wasted, in fact it's relished by the natives who get it. Nothing wrong with shooting one at all. Too many judgmental people who have no clue what they are talking about.
  7. If you read the article, you will see the numbers only refer to papers written by scientists that have stated climate change is occurring. It doesn't mean they believe it is a man made occurrence. Most of the papers, in fact, do not say that.
  8. The 97% claim is a myth and has been proven to be so. Science is not consensus. https://www.forbes.com/sites/uhenergy/2016/12/14/fact-checking-the-97-consensus-on-anthropogenic-climate-change/
  9. "One gets the disquieting sense Republicans are either rank cynics who believe being the lesser of two really odious evils is good enough to maintain their congressional majority absent an all-out effort to do so, or insufferable hypocrites willing to lose that majority as a "reasonable" trade-off for reinstating the status quo upended by Trump's America First agenda. And if GOP losses in November enable an impeachment-addicted Democrat Party to upend Trump's presidency as well. You have to break a few nationalist, patriotic eggs to remake a globalist, Ruling Class omelette." Mark Alexander
  10. I got rid of my .338 WM and got the .325 WSM which shoots the same ballistics up to 220 grain bullets, but has far less felt recoil. I love the CZ 550 American. I bought one once in .458 Lott just to see how it shoots. Found out and sold it. LOL! Love the set trigger they use too. Why one was put on a .458 Lott I'll never know.
  11. I find the city water lands to be better than the state lands. Most were in private hands less than 5 years ago.
  12. Here's a great analysis of the Cuomo/NRA situation. https://patriotpost.us/articles/57617-why-we-should-oppose-andrew-cuomo Indeed, the silver lining in the cloud is that this pattern of abuse, combined with the IRS scandal and other government malfeasance, will only convince many more Americans that a tyrannical government is possible, especially if people like Cuomo and Murphy are in charge. Perhaps that will rally voters to stand for Liberty.
  13. On the positive side, it's beautiful country that allows for great rifle, ML and bow deer hunting. For those who just want to shoot a deer of any stature, without a doe permit, they will not find it to their liking. For those who truly love to hunt and only want a nice buck for their efforts, you will not find the area lacking in hunting land opportunity. BTW, bear, turkey, coyote, bobcat, small game and waterfowl abound in this area as well. Plenty of good hunting for them too. There is no shortage of land access for hunting in Delaware Cty.
  14. I have heard NY gun owners tell me the NRA is too far right and extremist for them to support. They say they are embarrassed by the NRA. That just tightens my jaw. My only response is they no nothing of which they speak. They are getting their info from the main stream media propaganda machine and are swallowing all of it. I wonder if they will continue to believe it now.
  15. The antler restrictions have been in effect for a number of years now and are starting to show good results. The chance of getting a 6 point buck has improved now. Big deer are being taken now also and there are very few hunters out there, even on the opener. Bow hunters will find many of these parcels to be excellent hunting spots. Meat hunters may not be too interested in the area, but deer hunters who are looking to put in a serious hunt to get a nice buck will find the area offers lots of land to hunt on. Is all of Delaware county antler restricted? I haven't got the map with me.
  16. http://www.nyc.gov/html/dep/html/press_releases/16-059pr.shtml#.W3GMTM5Kh0w http://www.nyc.gov/html/dep/html/recreation/index.shtml http://www.nyc.gov/html/dep/pdf/recreation/open_rec_areas.pdf The recreation mapping tool currently includes a total 131,944 acres of City-owned land and water east of the Hudson River in Dutchess, Putnam and Westchester counties, and in Delaware, Greene, Schoharie, Sullivan and Ulster counties in the Catskills. The mapped areas comprise 393 distinct parcels of recreation land totaling 96,113 acres. Those recreation areas range from as small as 6 acres to as large as 3,804 acres. The map also outlines recreational access to 19 reservoirs covering a combined surface area of 35,831 acres.
  17. I happen to have an old sporterized 7.7 Jap rifle that has a nice Fajen stock, worked trigger, jeweled bolt, customized trigger guard, floor plate and scope rail. It's actually a pretty hunting rifle. Many of these old Jap rifles were converted to .30-06 as the rounds are very similar making it an easy thing. This Jap is still 7.7 but happens to be very accurate using 150 grain bullets in hand loaded rounds. I was just thinking it might make a good .35 Whelen that would have character. Possibly would be less to convert it than buying a new bolt rifle in .35 Whelen. Just an idea.
  18. Just an FYI for all the NY deer hunters looking for a place to hunt. Delaware County NY has thousands of acres of City Water Dept land open to hunting, as well as lots of state land open to hunting as well. These lands have good deer hunting. Lots of acreage has recently been purchased by NYC Water Dept and is good hunting land. I'm pretty sure all of the parcels are online on their site. Want room to still hunt, track and not see any other hunters while you're out there? This is where you will find it.
  19. The NRA isn't very effective in any state where most of it's gun owners are not NRA members. Numbers scare politicians and political parties. Members are highly informed. That makes them want to vote and vote the right way. That's how NRA membership protects gun rights. NRA money is needed to fight legal battles that arise, like the SAFE Act, because elected hacks feel they can attack gun rights when most gun owners won't put forth the minimum commitment to protect their gun rights. Many still vote for politicians that attack gun rights because they have no information making them aware of the issues. If you are a NY gun owner, but not an NRA member, please read this post twice.
  20. I started out using Pete Rickard's Indian Buck Lure. I still use it when I can find it and I really believe it works.
  21. For the most part, I still hunt with the same folks I've hunted with for decades. So we have not really changed much as far as how we hunt. What I have noticed is far fewer hunters in the woods these days, which has advantages and disadvantages. I also am pleased to have a cell phone with me when hunting now. That really makes hunting alone safer and allows me to keep in touch with other stand hunters while deer hunting. We can make changes in plans due to weather or whatever and I can know quickly what is going down when I hear someone take a shot.
  22. Yet Trump has a lower approval rating. Makes you wonder what people in this country approve of.
  23. Must be a male. Female yotes are real bitches! LOL!
