Corona Virus Thread
Rattler replied to Al Bundy's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Wanna know how poorly some people understand the spoken word and how easily they fall for media spin to incite hate? Copy/paste I am a nurse. I knew exactly what he was talking about! He did not use the correct words, but he is not a medical expert either. But instead of the media explaining what he meant and doing a segment on lung washing or lavage they bash him! There is a procedure that “wash” “clean” “inject” the lungs!! Doctors use saline. They may be playing with an idea of adding an antiviral or antibiotic some kind of antiseptic which can be done. I worked in the OR and we used all kind of stuff! And yes guess what we used??? Bleach yep you got it. It wasn’t bleach from the container but it was a sterile powder form we mixed in sterile saline to cleanse whatever infection of the body we were operating on. This really pissed me off so I had to vent! -
I am Not A Cuomo Fan But....
Rattler replied to Steve D's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Somebody show me where the US Constitution says all of the rights contained within get thrown out the window if there is a pandemic? What legal authority does Cuomo have to do any of the things he has forced upon free men? When you suspend individual liberty and freedom with a threat of force, you are violating all inalienable rights. I don't care how bad you think the situation is, personal responsibility is the answer. If you're afraid of dying from this virus, stay home. And don't give me a reply, "Well, you are possibly killing others." Then I guess you want to lock down all the highways too, because people are out there killing others with their cars! This nanny state horse crap has got to stop, and it needs to stop now, before the govt gets used to dictating everything we are allowed to do for the good of the "collective" at the expense of our own individual freedom and pursuit of happiness. You know why they are now saying "herd" immunity? Because they view us all as a herd of dumb animals they have dominion over. Sickening. When did Americans become such losers? -

Not a fan. Never will be. To me what we are seeing is the SAFE Act expanded to everything in your life. Cuomo's got all the time in the world. It doesn't affect anything in his life. He has a job. He's getting paid. He's got body guards to keep people away from him. He'd get the royal treatment if he were hospitalized. I doubt he has ever asked himself how long people can hold their breath, when he keeps holding their head underwater. He's already put the state on life support with his first two terms. Seems he intends to finish it off once and for all this term. -
But you must also take into consideration regular social distancing practices and regular mask usage also started when most lock downs were implemented. How is that factored out of the impact on the data? Was it necessary to go beyond masks and distancing to achieve these numbers?

Democrats want to investigate again

Do lock downs work? The data doesn't support them. https://patriotpost.us/articles/70165-video-the-most-expensive-experiment-in-us-history-is-a-failure-2020-04-24?mailing_id=5013&utm_medium=email&utm_source=pp.email.5013&utm_campaign=digest&utm_content=body

If they have lung damage already from vaping they are at high risk for virus complications. If they just vape now they may be making it easier to get the virus.

Where my daughter works as a nurse, they've had a number of positive cases where the person never showed any symptoms, not even like they had a cold. They've also sent others to hospitals that could handle severe symptoms, all of whom had other medical issues. It's looking more and more like certain issues, such as hypertension, diabetes, COPD, emphysema, pneumonia, obesity and even vaping to quit smoking, put people at much higher risk of getting very sick from the virus. It also seems laying in bed on your back when you feel really sick, is a very bad thing to do. People who fight it by staying upright, breathing deep in spite of the knife like pain in the chest and exercising, fare better in the long run.

Corona Virus Thread
Rattler replied to Al Bundy's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Anyone in an at risk group should stay home until the odds of dying from the virus are low enough for them to go out. Apparently as many as 2.7 million NY citizens have already had the virus. It's now possible to see which citizens are most at risk. The one's that aren't should not be locked down until their lives are destroyed. Retired folks don't need to work. They are already financially OK for life. The people who aren't are the one's fighting for their livelihood. https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/new-york-virus-deaths-top-15k-cuomo-expected-to-detail-plan-to-fight-nursing-home-outbreaks/2386556/ -

McConnell wouldn't take Cuomo's ass if he tried to hand it to him. Would you? Those nipple piercings are making him even more perverted. -
How about some gun porn? I’ll start with our handguns

Some of my favorites. -
If Dan Crenshaw, the honorable Congressman from Texas, a truly honorable Congressman, knows all of the details regarding the government's timeline on the virus response, what are Democrats investigating? Are they looking to make the public feel some "war crimes" were committed, only to wind up with nothing when it's over. Seems pretty much like a political smear campaign at taxpayer expense.
-
This idiot of a woman has never seen a war, has no idea what constitutes a "war crime" and doesn't have a clue what Trump has done since Jan 1, 2020 to try and stop this virus. She sits in meetings with other hyperbolic lunatics in her party that all scream about ways they can ruin the President and destroy his coming re-election. Facts and logic have long left the room by the time these idiots make up their minds about what moronic pronouncements they are going to come out with. I don't know who's more insane, these idiots or the one's that vote for them.

I have 3 friends who applied before the end of March, two of whom spoke to someone on the phone and were told everything was in order. Not one of these women has heard a word since then and none have been able to get anyone on the phone or any info about their status online. No checks have arrived and they are out of money. They also said something about having to be approved for "regular" unemployment before they can apply for "pandemic" unemployment. Not sure what that is about.

We are on the same page then. That's what I've been saying from the start. I have experienced quite a bit of animosity for it though. Mainly regarding the idea of reopening. Apparently that is not an option for some folks.

Seems there is a lack of self doubt on all sides, that's my point. How does one conclude a nationwide lock down is not at the expense of others, especially those who are losing their livelihood and everything they worked all their lives for? Not to mention the devastating expense to others if the future holds a national depression. I'm old enough to have parents who survived the last one in the 1930's. The stories they told were enough to make me certain nobody ever wants to go through that again.

A Interesting Bill
Rattler replied to Steve D's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I'd rather see a bill giving the NYC and Long Island area to CT. Then Cuomo would be the Governor of the rest of NY. It would be hilarious to see him do back flips trying to earn votes from the rest of NY state. -
Care to explain how I did that? It wasn't me who turned it into a political slug fest. I'm the one who refused to discuss politics in that thread. Care to post an intelligent reply to any of the 3 serious issues being discussed here that do not involve politics? Any of these 3 issues could have politicians screw them up, but all 3 are issues that exist because of the virus and our response to it. See if you can contribute to the debate from that perspective and leave politics out of it.

Elmo, if you think that would make a real impact, you're not as smart as I gave you credit for. I still don't understand why some guys feel they need to shut this down. Not interested? Don't read it. Nobody cares? Why care? Bigger issues right now? (Seriously??) Post about them. Not convinced? Freedom of choice. I just don't understand why one person's point of view seems to trigger such negativity. Nobody forces anyone to read these posts. But if it gives one a feeling of moral superiority or anxiety relief, maybe they need to.

This thread addresses 3 serious issues with the current state of affairs in the world today. Everything I have posted addresses on of these issues. I'm curious why some people are adamant about mocking the message. How are you triggered by these examples of threats to the civilian population? Unless your acting out of personal animosity for some presumed offense I have brought upon you, I can only conclude you support these threats.
