  1. Visiting with my grand children yesterday, I told my grandson someday he would be given my Kimber rifles. He seemed pretty happy about that.
  2. I live alone. No kids in my house. So, I assume if my house is locked, I'm legal, no?
  3. Let's Roll!! https://www.wktv.com/content/news/Buffalo-on-the-loose-in-Otsego-County-513277961.html?fbclid=IwAR2kCId0f2_BZnLZwd6gR5L1A05Ix5DVywxRvmDI-__wCP0bb51_DSYoLNY#.XTvmTk3m604.facebook
  4. You just put a tree behind you for back support.
  5. "So what does Cuomo do about a buyer who is delayed the purchase of a firearm, BUT already legally owns a firearm?" It has not been announced yet, but he plans to have you turn ALL of your firearms in to the police whenever they get a denial or delay on a NICS check. This will prevent people from buying more firearms, for fear they will be denied and lose all of them. It's a "Guilty until proven innocent" scenario that will cost you thousands in legal fees to correct. When the govt hates your guns, and hates those who own them, there is nothing they won't do to you. That's totalitarian tyranny, and Cuomo is the prime example of a repeat offender.
  6. "Instant" background checks were supposed to prevent this type of crap from ever happening. Now the govt will have motive to fill the data base with erroneous crap, so they will always get errors that require further scrutiny. Why not fix the data base so there are no errors? That would ensure people's rights are not held hostage by the govt when they are responsible law abiding citizens who are merely exercising their right to own a firearm. That would not allow the govt to prevent as many gun purchases as possible though, which is the real reason all of this crap happens in the first place. This is all by design people.
  7. The cult of celebrity worship has no foundation, as it doesn't help anyone enhance the quality of their lives. Kimber firearms do! LOL!
  8. I've had this one for years. It comes apart to carry it in and the legs stow under the bottom when carried. It swivels too. Light and easily portable. Very quiet. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1007667016/quake-bull-seat-all-terrain-hunting-blind-stool-chair-polymer-green
  9. At 63 years old, many of my old hunting companions are gone or can no longer hunt. Most of the other guys I've hunted with are now in their 60's or 70's and have lost the passion for it. They beg off my invitations to hunt my land every year. Only my one buddy still comes to camp to hunt each opening day. He loves it, but sadly isn't very good at it. He does his best every year, but is far from an accomplished hunter. No matter how well I set him up, he always seems to have difficulty getting a buck, or even a doe when he has a doe permit. He's 65, out of shape, wears glasses, has hearing loss and isn't a very good shot, but he truly loves to be in the deer woods with his Marlin .30-30 and is happy to do whatever work needs to be done. He was born and raised in Brooklyn and loves the peacefulness of the mountains because of it. Got to love the guy. He does enhance the quality of deer camp, in spite of his limits. Last season I gave him Bushnell Perma Focus 10x42 Roof Prism Binoculars as a gift and advised him how to use them. No focusing required and simple to use. He felt like he had entered a whole new level in the deer hunting world after using them only one day. I really find it sad few of the younger folks I know want to hunt. When I was young, I prayed for invitations to hunt deer at someone's deer camp. Today, young guys don't relish the opportunity to hunt at my camp when they could. The times have surely changed, and I fear it's not for the better. That being said, I still have the passion and get the itch to hunt deer every fall, even if I do hunt by myself.
  10. Aren't they mostly former employees of the original Kimber production facility though?
  11. I've always been puzzled by the fact Kimber moved from Oregon to Yonkers. They still have their office in Kalispell, MT though. They now have a facility in Troy, AL as well. They're hiring lots of workers there too.
  12. Red squirrels go in the Havahart trap. Trap goes in the stream.
  13. They now make the Kimber Hunter, which is an 84M action and barrel with a less costly, yet equally accurate, polymer stock. They go about $750 and are a bargain at that price. They are also just as light as the Montanas.
  14. No camo, no decoys, no accessories....just a good double gun and a box call.
  15. The Super America's are beautiful rifles, but for a hunting gun, I like the matte finish metal on the Select Grades. They're also much less expensive.
  16. I'm leaning towards a Select Grade in .308 for my next one. What scope do you have on it? My 84M Montana 7mm-08 has a Leupold Compact 3-9x33mm on it.
  17. I'm sold on Kimber rifles. IMHO, They truly are what all rifles should be. My first one was in 2003. An 84M Montana in 7mm-08. These are hunting rifles. Left to right....Kimber Hunter .22LR (original 2 position safety) 84M Montana 7mm-08 (original 2 position safety) 8400 Montana .325 WSM 8400 Montana .30-06 (not an 84L) Talkeetna .375 H&H. I'm thinking about adding a few Select Grade rifles to the line up.
  18. The path we are currently on—growing debt, growing social programs, less restrictive immigration, not enforcing existing laws (immigration, drugs, voting), ignoring the Constitution in creating and enforcing new laws (firearms, property rights)—heads toward a cliff.
  19. I think some of these deer a suicidal. I've seen them wait by the side of the road until a vehicle is on them, then jump in front of the vehicle. No way to avoid hitting them at that point. Maybe they get depressed.
  20. Crows do damage, but more to the eggs in the nest I believe.
  21. Habitat is priority one, but even in areas with great habitat, grouse numbers are declining.
  22. I see. Didn't know you needed that much. I like the Tundra, but the Tacoma with a 4 cyl and 4x4 is enough for me. I'm too old to work that hard.
