  1. Not only does the NFL allow American hating players to ply their trade, they will probably support their demands to take away your firearms. https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/culture/jay-maxson/2019/08/07/usa-today-glorifies-anthem-protester-stills-who-has-answers?fbclid=IwAR1ZgF4SP-KFH9Jlp28QzKf8HixUyqaw6tGMraDVAnyBtCig96pm5XtXnXU
  2. Lighten up WNY. It's called being facetious, with the emphasis on the feces. Driving a boat is not like a car, because there are no roads, intersections, highways, on ramps or stop signs. The rules of boat operation on the water are not as confined. What is NY going to do about out of state boaters that run in their waters? Nothing. They can't. Has driver education done a lot to reduce the carnage we see on the roads with cars? No. It can't. Unless people who do stupid things are held accountable for the damage they do with some pretty severe consequences, nothing will improve. All that's going to happen now is, we hand idiots a license and they now feel they are licensed to be idiots. It's just another permission slip now required by the state to do something that used to be part of your freedom to do what you want. Another area where we give up our freedom because some people abuse theirs and are not held accountable for it. Another case of responsible people being made to account for the irresponsible. Another area where your freedom is now a government provided privilege with a fee. Another case of citizens willingly giving up their freedoms for the promise of some security, when there actually isn't any. This is how our freedoms and liberties disappear. We willingly give them up, with no chance of ever getting them back.
  3. If your shotgun is a smooth bore, I would recommend also trying Federal Tru-ball slugs in it. They seem to be the most accurate slugs in most smooth bore shotguns.
  4. Oh joy, another mark of the beast. What makes me laugh is thinking any idiots out there will stop being idiots after they go through the course. Cuomo thinks legislation will fix every problem known to man. That's how they stopped murders and illegal drug use. Better to catch them doing stupid things, then fine them big time and remove their right to operate a boat. It's all about control my friends. There is nothing the government doesn't feel it has the right to inject itself into and tell everyone how to live. $10 fee today. Soon, renewal every 5 years to come with fees going up every couple of years. It's a given.
  5. All true. But his death stifles effective prosecution of many others that are just like him. That's why so many people are pissed he isn't able to talk anymore. On the other hand, so many powerful perverts are also very happy he isn't able to talk anymore.
  6. I find when I hunt alone, I'm more focused. I concentrate on hunting, seeing sign, being quiet, listening for the slightest sounds, spotting movement, seeing an antler or an eye, smelling a deer and taking in everything around me 100% of the time. I just can't do that as well when I'm hunting with someone. It is a distraction and always figures into the demands of the day's hunt. I'll usually drop off a buddy at a stand and go on to my stand afterwards. That gives me a chance to forget about them while I hunt on. Especially if I'm going to still hunt that day. I really enjoy the hunting skill set part of hunting. I'm sure I would enjoy participating in a good drive. I have hunted in groups that had strategically placed stands, but never felt the same level of hunting skill was needed to be successful. I've always felt patience and good shooting skill was needed in those situations, but not necessarily a whole lot of hunting skill, beyond the scouting and placement part of it. Being able to go one on one with your quarry, on their terms, on their turf and with equal advantage, is what I think makes one a good hunter. It's just my experience that it's very hard to do that as a team and even harder to find someone else capable of doing it with you as a team. I enjoy a nice social hunt too, but when I'm hunting alone, I'm seriously hunting.
  7. Sure sounds like a great time in the field, especially at this time of year. Sadly, in my area of the Catskills, we don't seem to have many pigeons around. At least not that I know of. The farms around here don't seem to have them around. Mostly dairy farms around here.
  8. Every year I'm more convinced we should all boycott the NFL for life.
  9. I hunt alone the majority of the time. I believe it makes you a better hunter, allowing you to focus and be self sufficient.
  10. I think he wanted to commit suicide, was put on suicide watch to prevent it, and a guard may have been bribed to look the other way so it happened. A lot of Democrats are breathing a sign of relief this morning.
  11. I guess being on "Suicide Watch" means the guards are supposed to watch him as he commits suicide.
  12. I see Henry is now offering a fine looking lever gun with a side loading gate. It's about time too. It's even available in .35 Remington. Nice brass action and straight stock lever gun.
  13. BTW you can go on gunbroker.com and search "Fox Sterlingworth" in the SxS section and see what they are selling for. This gives you a good idea without paying $60 for a Blue Book.
  14. If there was a big enough buck in the area to make it worthwhile, I'd go into my stand about midnight and sleep in it until legal light. It's not like I've never done it in the past.
  15. That is a Fox Sterlingworth made in Phila, PA. They are very collectible, and that one, assuming it's a 12 gauge, in the condition it seems to be in, should be worth at least $1000. (It appears the stock has been refinished and some of the varnish got on the receiver) Current Blue Book values may be even more, depending on the actual overall condition, which I can not determine from the photos. I had a 20 gauge version of that gun in very similar looking condition that I sold for $1200 about 6 years ago. To get top dollar for it, I'd put it on gunbroker.com as that's where thousands of people looking for this type of SxS will be.
  16. Never needed any service on any of the rifles. What did you need them to do?
  17. I practice with field points, then switch to broadheads of the same weight. I have some I used to shoot into sand and they are now dull, but they can be used for practice again and again. My recurve shows no difference in point of aim with the broadheads though. It also doesn't matter if they are 3 blade or 4 blade.
  18. Sorry guys, but it's not my style. I like a ball cap. I like to put a fleece beanie or wool watch cap over it when it's cold. I can pull that down over my ears too. I also wear a hoodie when hunting in the cold and like to put the hood up when sitting still. I'm all about warmth and keeping the sun off my face and out of my eyes. The camo ball cap works for me. I guess that why I have about 6 of them. I can see a boonie hat in the summer, and they were popular with troops in the hot Asian jungle, but they don't fill the bill for me in the snowy Catskills during deer season.
  19. Always nice to have extra space.
  20. My Lifetime License came in yesterday. I applied for my 2 DMP's and got both of them. Will be looking to put 1 good buck and 2 doe in the freezer this November. I only hunt bow season with my recurve and strictly for a good buck. ML isn't even considered when I'm set after the regular season.
  21. The truth is, nobody is being armed. The state is preventing people already approved for concealed carry from defending themselves or the kids in a school. They are DISARMING teachers and school staff, while doing nothing to beef up security for the kids. In today's school shooting environment, that amounts to making the kids far less safe, not safer. Cuomo must think taking guards out of banks would make bank robbery less common too.
  22. No way. He's gonna be a man with more firearms than he needs, but not as many as he wants, just like his Grampa!
  23. Anti-gun totalitarians attack "gun violence", yet completely ignore all the other violence in society. The societal violence we are seeing today is the direct result of failed progressive, leftist ideology that has been in place for decades. I believe these ideological policies were put in place by leftists with the goal of removing rights in the future. The govt creates the problems, then rides in on a white horse, takes away citizens liberties and rights, and proclaims itself to be the savior of the people. The govt is allowed to cause problems without ever being held accountable for the results of their actions. How did we get here? The electorate, having been educated by the very same leftists in govt, was intentionally dumbed down and indoctrinated to submit to the will of the very govt that wants to enslave them. If these Leftist Progressive Marxist Totalitarians aren't soon neutered by the SCOTUS for subverting the Constitution and eliminating individual inalienable rights, there will be a revolt in this country. There will be blood.
  24. That is a de facto law against owning a pistol. Rights are not privileges that require a permit.
