New Zealand buy back prices
Rattler replied to Dinsdale's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Why is it called a "buy back"? The gun owners didn't buy the guns from the govt. It should be called "forced confiscation with minor compensation". -
For now maybe. Soon the old one's will be in high demand and the prices for them will reflect the rule of supply and demand. If you want an old one, best to get on gunbroker and buy one as soon as you can. Heck, the prices for an early 60's 336 in .35 Rem are already way up there.

Best to just ignore a guy like the one in the farms. Let him rant and rave all he wants. He has no power to do anything. Laugh in his face and really piss him off. Maybe he'll have a stroke and wind up in a nursing home. That would solve the problem.

I don't take a train into the city, but I do know Port Jervis well. You can park a car over night on just about any side street near the train station any night of the week. It's a residential neighborhood. Very small train station with a small parking lot, but lots of parking around it on the side streets.

Another idiot leftist governor in Oregon is trying the same stupid crap, but GOP members of her assembly are fighting it. So she sends the State Police to get them. You know how bad an idea is when you must use force to install it. Why not just let citizens vote on it? Oh, I forgot, it would never happen then. https://thefederalistpapers.org/us/oregon-state-capital-closed-threat-democrat-gov-calls-police-republicans?fbclid=IwAR2WVRgbigcRSZtqtdlftqHlHaFy8_PUDEXx09bPZ0Tn5-YKkm8ELUgDkhw

Indecent exposure is a lifestyle now? Used to be a crime.

Not sure which is worse, the people in the freak parade, or the people who clap for them.

The climate surrounds the planet. If you believe climate change is man-made, every country on earth affects it. What good does it do to penalize the residents of the State of NY with these onerous regulations and extreme costs, if the rest of the country, and the world for that matter, do nothing? It's like being the only one on a sinking ship that's bailing and you're using a soup can to do it. Futility defined. Cuomo is using all of NY's citizens to pay for his quest to become POTUS. That's never going to happen, as he's too much of a Leftist and a totalitarian. However, that won't stop him from pushing a totalitarian, leftist agenda to prove how far he would go to appease leftist benefactors, like George Soros. Those benefactors are pushing an agenda designed to bring western culture, freedom and liberty to it's knees. That's what makes many intellectuals with open minds, question the entire climate change agenda to begin with. BTW, those same leftist benefactors are also pushing for complete civilian disarmament, another ideal Cuomo embraces with extreme prejudice. But I'm sure that's just an imagined coincidence.

Cuomo is a friggin idiot who has no idea how much this will increase your energy bills. He's trying to force everyone into solar and wind. The investment required for either of those so called "carbon-free" sources is huge and must be replaced every 10 years or so. Figuring that into your total cost of energy, you find you save nothing and probably pay more. Then there's the need for land area to put this stuff. That costs money and destroys the land it's on. It's putting a major financial burden on people he's supposed to represent, without any improvement in the climate, because the majority of the world creating air pollution isn't even in the United States and doesn't care about their carbon footprint. NEW YORK'S REGULATORY ENLARGEMENT: Meanwhile, "Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) said ... he has reached an agreement with legislative leaders over a bill to slash New York's greenhouse gas emissions, setting the stage for one of the most significant state climate victories since President Trump took office," E&E News reveals. "The legislation calls for reducing emissions by 40% from 1990 levels by 2030 and 85% by 2050. The remaining 15% of emissions would be offset, making the state carbon neutral. The bill would also require that all electricity generation come from carbon-free sources by 2040."

One NY State county clerk is going to fight this crap. https://www.dailysignal.com/2019/06/20/ny-county-clerk-to-defy-state-law-giving-licenses-to-illegal-immigrants/?mkt_tok=eyJpIjoiTTJFMU4yUXdNMlprT0RnMCIsInQiOiJWYkdwRkh4UEFYQUxMT1wvbFV0azFPallwRmlIbE1vdTRcL2Q5R2lweTh3eW9XU2paUWlzVzYyV2ZpUjVEWEpsZWdvRjJoM2x2WlpzWkQ3SXFOOHhZSnBrXC8rT1Y5U0p5TFZMemYzMzJJQ3NnbGNxajFQUU1DQWNjTHp2T3lnZ1VhMyJ9

I love deer hunting and bear hunting. But I started hunting rabbit, squirrel, pheasant, grouse, duck, geese and other waterfowl. (I love Rail hunting) All those seasons opened prior to my first deer season in DEC 1970, and when I got my first hunting license at 16 I wanted to hunt everything there was to hunt. I love ALL hunting and probably spend as many days in the field hunting small game as big game. Not sure why more people don't hunt a lot of small game, other than I suspect they don't know where to hunt and don't get many when they do. Then again, many bow hunt deer a lot now too. The bow season is very long and overlaps small game. Small game and waterfowl hunting was huge when there were few whitetail to be found. That was it's heyday. Now, there are lots of deer and a lot less small game to be found. Still, it's a different kind of hunting experience that offers joys one will not experience in deer hunting. Almost forgot to talk about Turkey hunting. There were NO turkey even around when I was young. I remember the stockings and the years waiting for a hunting season. Now the spring season just keeps me from doing more trout fishing. The fall season is mixed in with all sorts of small game hunting for me. I guess I'm addicted to hunting and it is a choice I made willingly.

NARCAN was used to save his life, but couldn't help the 3 people he killed while driving on heroin. https://www.nj.com/passaic-county/2019/06/nj-man-accused-of-killing-3-in-crash-while-high-didnt-know-heroin-was-laced-with-fentanyl-lawyer-says.html?utm_campaign=njcom_sf&utm_source=facebook&utm_content=nj_facebook_njcom&utm_medium=social&fbclid=IwAR2Qe31dVRsWtp9oF_QQKBJNTZ_8zLUDjPcg1YuYNsXQrHzzo5J1RTd4ejg

No offense meant to you there Moog. Just a comment on the general attitude in society.

People with mortal medical problems, that are no fault of their own, have medicine withheld from them all the time due to cost. To me, that's discrimination. Not sure why people want to save addicts lives and let responsible folks die. Probably because they're not members of the protected victim class. I also don't call it an "epidemic" as that implies it's a disease, which it isn't. It's a crisis. A self inflicted one.

Once saw a guy get his trailer all the way into the water and get his boat off it, only to return to his SUV to find he locked himself out. Other people waited a long time for him to get out of there. None were too polite about it.

It's not so much letting them drive Cuomo is concerned with. It's getting them the ability to vote. He wants to make sure Trump isn't re-elected and he wants their votes when he runs again. He'll accept all of the crime and carnage to attain those two things. All part of the leftist plan people, all part of the plan.

Plenty up by the local Emergency Mgmt radio tower. They have to be trapped and relocated because they're protected. They relocate about two per week in the summer. Rocky areas with cool underground holes they can slither into seem to suit them well. Had a baby one under my house a few years ago. Only had one bead for a rattle, but struck at the bottom of my boot like a pro when I dared it to. They're far from rare in many parts of upstate NY.
