Saw a nice sized six pointer chasing does like crazy here on the island this weekend. Probably best bet is last week of Oct if the weather is right and it cools down a bit by then. John

I didn't have much luck last night. I saw seven deer but all were about 80 yards out and went down the same trail in the same direction. I think one was a buck but i'm not sure and the rest were does and fawns. I hate hunting in the wind and never really have any luck. Next time i'm out in the wind i'm just going to slowly still hunt instead of sitting in the stand. Not sure where i'm hunting this weekend might head back upstate and hunt the island again the last weekend of Oct. After that i'm off for first two weeks of Nov and will be hunting Ohio the first week and probably the Island the week after. Nov cant get here fast enough lol!!! No deer this morning. My brothers saw a few does and i didnt see any. Real windy but gonna go back out again at 2 for the afternoon.

I saw so many deer this afternoon i lost track of what was what. So a ton of does and then saw two different six's one which was chasing the does around like crazy the stayed under my stand eating acorns for about 20 min. Also saw a really small spike and 4 pointer. Right at dark i had a nice big six come in but im holding out for something bigger. Hoefully the action will be good again tomorrow with the high winds they are predicting. Good luck tommorow Geno. I hope you find that big 8!!!! John

Didnt see anything this morning. Im in my favorite spot right now for afternoon. Ground is covered with acorns and rubs and tracks everywhere. I saw a buck and some does coming in hopefully it will be a good afternoon. John
