Just wanted to see how the action has been on Long island. I know about 2 weeks ago a few real nice bucks got shot and they were chasing everywhere. Anybody still seeing bucks chasing out there? I'm planing on hunting out there tomorrow morning and just want to know if the rut is still going good. John

I have rattled in one buck in about 10 years. This year i tried ratling a few different times and twice i had does come in to investigate. I used to always carry a pair of antlers and just last weekend i removed them from my bag because of the lack of results i have had. I guess the areas i hunt there isnt enough mature bucks and way too many does and that is why im not having much luck. John

Congrats guys on all the great deer!!!! I will be back out on the island this weekend. I feel i have a better chance of taking a nice buck out there right now with my bow than i do on the farm i hunt upstate with the gun. Good luck to everybody still hunting out there!!! John

I have a guy on the farm that i hunt that does the same thing. He used to be a close friend but now he just really annoys me. I have been hunting a buck with the bow or the last week and i find out yesterday that he shot it an didnt tag it or tell anybody. Man that got me pissed off. Then he shot on opening day and came back in saying it wasnt him so nobody really knows what he shot. Its to the point now that he has runied a great piece of property and i dont even have the urge to hunt there anymore. Its a shame how one guy can really screw up a whole area. I didnt even go out yesterday because i was so annoyed at what he is doing. John

Sam just hunted hocking county for the last week. We saw lot of great bucks and i shot one yesterday but made a bad hit unfortunately. Rutting really started hard two days ago and even with the warm temps you should be in for a good week out there. On my way bak to ny now. Good luck out there. I will def be back next year!! John

Hunted ohio the whole week and saw a few nice bucks. Today is the last day and i shot a great 9 pointer this morning but hit him in the brisket. He bedded down 40 yards from stand and then got up 20 min later and walked away. Im so dissapointed i spent the whole week waiting for a buck to come within range and i blew it. We tracked tiny spots of blood for 200 yards and then it just stopped. Feel sick to my stomach right now. John

Sitting in my stand in ohio. Nothing so far but people are shooting them. a few nice bucks have been taken over the past few days. Hopefully one walks by me. Gonna be here all week theni will be back at it upstate next week. Good luck guys!!! John

Good luck!! Im on my way out to Ohio right now. Ill be hunting public land and will be out there for the whole week. Weather is going to be perfect and hopefully the big boys will be moving. John

Been hunting 4r an 4g fo past few days. Havent seen any signs of rutting yet here. Bucks are still together. John

I sat most of the day today and didnt see one deer. I would have killed to see a 4 point walk past me today lol. We really need a cold snap bad. I wont be hunting the island again for a while since im leaving next sat for ohio for a week an then hunting upstate the following week. Good luck guys i hope you all get some big bucks down!! John

Got up in the stand about 15 min ago. Real warm but this spot is loaded with acorns and deer tracks. Good luck to everybody out this morning!! John

We have a cam running in there but no big boys have shown up yet. Only one small 7 pointer that has been with the does all summer. We will be checking cams tomorrow and if anything good has shown up we will be hunting there in the afternoon. Here are a few of the better ones from last year. I'm hoping some of them will start showing up again soon. I know the last one wont b/c he is hanging on my brother wall. John

Hutnted 4g yesterday morn. No deer but it was real windy. I do think i found out where the big ones i got on cam in sept are bedding. Gonna hunt the area next time im upstate. John

Been setup for an hour now. Trying something different tonight. Been seeing a decent 8 point in a field right off the road every night. Im setup on grond right where he has been. Put on asat 3d suit and sitting in high grass waitinggg.
