Just got back from the doctor. Got staples removed and i no longer need to wear the sling which is a hugeeee relief. Gonna take a while to fully heal but i am def making some progress. Hopefully ill be able to shoot the bow by summer. I told the doc that i was going to go to the range today joking around and he was like are you crazyyy lol. John

My friend sent me some trailcam pics from the last week down here on LI and alot of bucks were still carrying both sides. i think down here right now its about 50/50. John

Lol this was a park that doesnt allow hunting. Your best bet is to get to the check station at ridge early and try to get a spot that somebody doesnt show up for. I would try to get into a spot a rocky point find a good spot to setup and sit all day and let everyone else walking around doing drives push deer to you. Good luck!!!!! John

Went shed hunting today in one of the state parks and saw 4 8 pointers a six and big ten all still carrying both sides. I also saw a few shed bucks too. John

Ive heard of one nice 8 point taken in rocky point. The buck was aged at 3 1/2 years old. John

Congrats on the deer guys. I was out shed hunting on the island all day but came up empty. The guy i was with found a 4 point side so the day wasnt a total bust. I did come across a shed buck that had half his front leg blown off from a shotgun blast. Sucks to see a deer in that condition but it happens sometimes. John

Yea thats what i am planning on doing. Had the surgery this morning and other than being a little sore fom the incision im not feeling to bad. Im alao thinking of picking up a 50-60lb bow just in case. John

Thanks guys. I broke my forearm arm right before it connects to the elbow. They are going to put two screws on and wire to keep it tight. It's my bow arm not my pulling arm which I think might be worse. John

I went ice skating with my girl on Monday night and I fell on my elbow and broke my arm. I'm happy it happened after bow season but I'm really worried about how it's going to affect my shooting in the future. I go for surgery on Monday morning then will be in a cast for 4 weeks. Hopefully I'll be able to get out shed hunting soon after also. Been sitting home and starting to go crazy!!! Anybody ever deal with a broken arm and bowhunting afterwards??? John

Good luck i have been out for the past 3 days and am in the stand now. Saw plenty of does but only one buck that shed already. Saw a real nice buck crossing road by otis oike area this morn. 8 or 10 and still had both sides. John

Awesome sheds guys!!! Last year was the first year i really got into shed hunting and i found 22. I went out today after the morning hunt since i had a buck with both sides missing come under my stand this morning but i didnt find any. Here is my collection from last year. John

back in the stand today on LI. Saw a lot of deer on the drive over so im hoping they will be moving good this morning. Only a few more days left to try and get it done with the bow. Im just hoping some of the bucks still have both their antlers.. John

Went out today with my brother. We saw about 10 does and i had a spike come under the stand. No big bucks today but my brother missed a nice buck yesterday morning. Ill be back out on monday and will be hunting every day next week until sat. Hope everyone has a good christmas. John

Good Luck Rich!!! I be hunting Sat morning as well. Im also off next week so ill be out there Mon-Sat trying to get a buck with the bow before the season closes. Gonna be a long week of hunting but hopefully it pays off in the end. John
