  1. Just curious. I don't think they fail anyone, but rather just go over the wrong questions. Nice to know that someone who blew a rudimentary common sense test is out in the woods with a weapon.
  2. Did the two that failed get the certificate?
  3. Not me. Came a little late, standing in back, green shirt. Caught most of your talk then talked with Jason when he did the tracking section.
  4. I'm always surprised when I hear that people who live a few hours away from NYC have never been there. It is a world-class city filled with culture, history and great food, and one that has to be experienced at least once. Do not stay in Times Square. The time between Thanksgiving and Christmas is probably the city at its most magical. The shops pull out all the holiday stops and if you have little kids, the Santa at ABC Home may well be the actual Santa. Do not stay in Times Square. Here's a helpful video for first timers. Bonus tip: Do not stay in Times Square.
  5. We may have talked if you did one of the demos as I asked a few questions, but I was pressed for time so had to leave at noon.
  6. Just wanted to thank the organisers. Beautiful club and I learned a lot.
  7. I can't stop wondering about it. Could also be one of those phallus-rigged seats where each back and forth brings you a little closer (deeper) to nirvana.
  8. Boy, they sure showed Emmett Till what happens when a 14-year-old black kid whistles at a white woman. Or not, as she later confessed to making it up. Why does that guy in papist's video always rock back and forth? Does he have to go to the bathroom or is he on a little rocking horse?
  9. I live in muck boots at my place. I have the chore version and the only knock is that they can be heavy after a day of work, but for the on-and-off ease and waterproofing they are unbeatable.
  10. Maybe both. The ones in the traps were nothing but a greasy smear of fur. The intact one looks like he was eaten from the inside out. I pulled all the bed linens and disinfected. As long as it's not hantavirus. I have a friend who was cleaning up some rat faeces at his place in the Bahamas and a week later he wasn't feeling well. Two weeks later he was dead from leptospirosis.
  11. I was thinking either cannibalization or a weasel of some kind. Shrew would work and there is evidence of some small animal tunnelling outside. But would they literally suck the carcass dry? Maybe a shrew with insects coming in for the end. Freaky as hell.
  12. I set traps in a bunkie two weeks ago. When I checked, they were all sprung, but the only evidence of mice was a greasy pile of fur on and near the traps. Then I found a mouse alongside the wall with no trap nearby. Attached pic is that mouse. He appears desiccated. The mice I catch in the main cabin are plump and lovely. What happened?
  13. I also had the "devil" beaten out of me at school so I write and draw right, but shoot, throw, bat left. I "naturally" pick up a pistol with my right hand though my left eye dominance makes it a little funky.
  14. Thanks, rac. I'm now seeing all kinds of simple field points mods including putting a washer behind the point.
  15. I'm thinking about hunting Grouse this year as I have plenty and can usually sneak up on them. The snaro looks like it would be effective if a little goofy. Any experience? Also, is it sporting to shoot a grouse on the ground?
  16. I clearly need a lesson at Moog's School of Fine Archery and Picking up Heavy Things.
  17. That looks like it would put the bow at the 40-degree position. Is that desired? Is the arm fully extended? I now seem to be creating all kinds of weird torque in my shoulder, elbow and wrist joint trying to keep the elbow out and the wrist anywhere from 45 - 90. Could be my structure. When I first saw my shirtmaker he looked at my shoulders and asked if I was in an accident.
  18. Right, that's what I meant. The bitch is keeping my arm in the correct extended position but then twisting my wrist back to bring the bow mostly vertical. It seems to put a lot of stress on the elbow. Practice I guess.
  19. Question on bow elbow. If my bow arm is extended and I flex it does my lower arm go up perpendicular to the ground or sideways across my body parallel to the ground?
  20. I picked up Shooting the Stickbow and am working my way through it. Will check out the others. I like Arne Moe's videos a lot.
  21. Such a classy guy ... http://pagesix.com/2017/07/29/scaramuccis-fed-up-wife-filed-for-divorce-while-nine-months-pregnant/
