Checked my traps the other day on one of the coldest days of the year. When I walked up to him he started flipping out. First he started growling and jumping around biting everything in sight. Even the hair on his back was up. I never caught a coyote by the back foot before which was kind of surprising , especially since I had a few guide sticks around the pan. The best thing about this cold weather is that you will rarely catch any non target animals like coons , opossums and skunks.

Yeah , not for the dog anyway. He probably became food for the others. Very nice photos by the way. -
Yeah......made some wax dirt over the summer. Problems bedding the trap in it though. I have a few turkey feathers on fishing line nearby . To make matters worse , a fox came by the next night and he felt the trap wobble under his foot (rookie mistake). He proceeded to surgically remove the dirt off the pan.

Made a dirt hole specifically for a bobcat that's been using this trail. He showed up the night after the snow stopped and he just missed the pan.

Cut this 5 toed bobcat track recently. Thought it was pretty cool.
