New Youth Hunting Days at Wertheim (Shirley, NY)
rachunter replied to Long Island NWRC's topic in Turkey Hunting
WOW there's some good birds in Wertheim anyone looking to get there kids involved in hunting should jump on this opportunity. -
I’m look to get a dedicated round ball muzzle loader one with a 1-60” twist. Most likely a .54 caliber because I already have a tc renegade. Looking around I found a Lyman Great Plains rifle in 54 with a 1-65” twist but it’s a flintlock. I spent the night looking at videos of flintlocks and just about everyone started of calling them flinch lock because the flash. Does anyone shoot a flintlock and is that a big concern. Also any other info on them would be great. I’m waiting for a book I ordered on the subject, but prefer first hand knowledge. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I use a belt holster or a hook. This was on a climber I bought. You can have it if you want to give it a shot. I’ll never use it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes you actually start of with 5 tags. Once you fill the bucks there done. Doe tags are unlimited. I’ve taken two bucks and two doe the same day quite a few times. Depending where you are on the island the deer are out of control. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes one on his regular and one on a bow/muzzy. I don’t know if he got them this year, but definitely not fake or impossible for Long Island at all. I know guys the shoot big bucks every year and never mention it to anyone but a close circle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I picked up a henry classic .22 a few months ago there where three of them two 45/70's and a 3030 on the shelf. There was a few bolt guns but they where in 2506? The guy said it was a good caliber for deer hunting.when i was looking buy the ammo he had a shelf full of 2506 bullets and nothing else. If you reload cast lead bullets are the way to go.cheap and still available.

It's like uncle nicky stated earlier in the post once you point out the truths it gets deflected.I saw on another site where it's called "willfully blind" they hear & see the truth refuse to acknowledge it and start deflecting it.The truth is the pipeline was shut down for no other reason but political pay back period.

Thompson Center 54 inline ?? Is this an oddball
rachunter replied to luberhill's topic in Muzzleloaders
I have a tc renegade in .54 cal. It’s becoming my favorite shooting gun lately. You can get round balls for it anywhere that sells muzzle loader stuff. If you want conicals look up “no excuses” they really pack a punch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I watched a documentary a few years back that explained this very same thing in great detail. I tried to find it last night but don’t remember the name. Anyway they where real scientists explaining where still coming out of an ice age and future of the next cycle isn’t known yet. They also had a scientist on there who stated there’s no way mankind can change what’s ahead. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I always wonder why some animals don't dig out the stake/anchor with the other paw.
