    34 degrees light east wind. Rain this afternoon. Heading back to the state land going to try up a mountain today. I found to lone saddles on a topo map that look good. Good luck everyone!!!

    I never used it for anything but chicken soup and country ribs. I tried a pork shoulder but didn’t care for it.

    Crockpot venison chili with Tostitos scoops. First time crockpoting chili not bad.

    It’s quite today compared to yesterday. No wind there’s deer poop everywhere back here. I’m going to hang a stand later this week.

    Staying local tonight. I shot my one and only ADK buck off this ridge five years ago.

    For as long as I’ve been hunting I could never find a hat that I didn’t over heat in when walking. Today I had a simple camo orange cap I made it about 100 yards before taking it off and putting it in my pocket. I’ve tried everything from due rags to the lightest face mask. I even have a face mask with an open top. I walk like a turtle yet I still sweat. I should add I’m bald. Does anyone else have this problem or a solution? The only thing I can think of is getting my head tattooed camo.

    What a hunt no deer seen but a lot learned. I worked my way up along three swamps crossed over the third and took a hiking trail out. Snuck out on to a finger that went into one swamp looked great but nobody home but an owl. He’s eyes popped out of head when I tried to get a better picture.

    Heading out first day only saw a crow. He was sitting in a tree above me for an hour or so. Still there when I left.

    Headyin for my first day of rifle.going to hunt my property today and tomorrow. 48 degrees light wind rain in the area. Man I’d love to get this guy with my muzzle loader. He’s been munching on my food plot.

    what's the difference if he was stalking deer down the trail or hunting out of a treestand? I've done both with success.If I bumped a deer more then once in the same spot i'd set a stand in midday and sneak in earlier the next morning.My brother shot a nice six five minutes after a bicycle rider went by.

    How'd everyone make out? I saw the bear in the "live" thread. How'd the rest of you guys make any sign of rutting going on? I decided to bring my muzzleloader next week for the rifle opener.Friday can't get here fast enough.
