  1. Your the second person that said leave the weasel. I’m going to try and weasel proof the bait boxes. Maybe set up another trail cam. I’m starting to think it’s a red squirrel in this pic not a weasel. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I've been battling mice for a few years. The bucket traps work great put one on each side of the house, but you really need to empty them on a regular basis. When i'm not up there I use four bait boxes. The problem can be if a chipmunk, red squirrel or weasel get in the wipe everything out in one shot. I haven't tried this yet but read that one part plaster of paris to one part coco mix works the same way as the bait blocks. MICE SUCK!!!!
  3. I'm plaining a weekend coyote/small game hunt.Normally I do this hunt up in the deposit/masonville area but the last few years have been unproductive.I've been looking around on the dec website and google earth and there seems to be a ton of state land in that area,I just never hunted it before and would like to know what the terrain, hunting pressure and other pressures[hikres, bikers, ect.] How productive is the area as far as small game and predator hunting goes? Not looking for anyones area just a starting point.

  11. Got home today from the late muzzleloader.Had a buck come by around 3pm luckily the sun hit his head before my finger pulled the trigger. He dropped both antlers.Saw him a few times in the three days.Had a little butterball spike slow roll passed in a snow squall.Saw a group of does after shoot time.I was looking for a lone doe[dry] that's been on my property for a few years, but she never popped up.Not a bad hunting trip except for no water or cell service. Love my new wood burner!!!

  16. I haven’t bow hunted on Long Island in a few years, but here’s the number to the ridge check station (631)924-3156. They can answer your questions faster then stony brook Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I picked up a crossbow from billdoggie a few months ago. Finally got around to shooting it. Well one shot thru a bone-collector crossbow target. The arrow passed thru and ripped the fletch’s off. Picked up a bigger target all good now. Anyway I want to get some extra arrows but after looking around last night I’m clueless on which ones to get. Do you guys/gals practice with the same arrows you hunt with? And how do I know which ones I need. I went on the spinal tapp site but couldn’t figure out how to set them up. I would like to get a few for practice and save the tapps for hunting. 18. It gets muddy when it rains hard. Then stays moist after. I added a pic it’s the spot in front of the target. I was going to add a sand dirt mix to it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I have a little area 50'x100' that gets good sun,but it also gets wet from the runoff when it rains and take a little longer to dry.The food plot I grew this year is on the other side of the creek and dries fast,it came in good.Is there anything I can grow in this area that likes a little more water?

  24. Moog5050 got me hooked on these videos. They talk about natural buck bedding areas. I can say five out of five times I look where they where supposed to be they where there. When I first came on this site a woman post a detailed video on how to make bedding areas on your property. It was in the land management forum. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
