Happy belated birthday, guys! -
Not much of a fast food guy myself but I do sneak in a few McD's Fish Fillet every once in a while.

Grow...you have to learn the art of "letting it go to voicemail".

When the combustion engine was invented, all the horse carriage drivers said the same thing. Especially during the early years when the automobile was introduced. No safety belt, iron steering wheels, no power steering, actual glass for a windshield. I'm sure early automobile drivers were getting killed left and right and people questioned if it was really worth it? No paved roads, those first cars barely went faster than the horse carriage. Now, nobody ever looked back and said the automobile ruined society. Improvements of the automobile is more about changes in technology. A better example would be when women entered the work force in large numbers as this example is more about changes society had to make to adjust. After women entered the workforce, the latchkey kid was born. Initially society didn't know how to deal with it. Criminals started taking advantage of it. Over time, society started realizing this and tons of after school programs were initialized. Eventually, society figured out a way and not many people now complain about women being in the workforce. My analogy is that when it comes to cell phones, we're in the early stages of the automobile. We're at the stage when women started entering the work force but afterschool programs haven't been invented yet.

Snow storm means getting out of work early. Wife finally made her dish. Oven roasted chicken and garbanzo beans. I dug in before taking a picture. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Most of these stuff are less than 10 years old. I think we as a society are still trying to figure out how to best use it. Especially when it comes to children.

Each morning, I'm about to take some venison out to thaw but my wife reminds me she bought some chicken and is planning to make some chicken dish that night. By the time we both get back from work, she's like "I'm tired. Let's eat out or order delivery." This has been going on since Monday. It's now Thursday. Let's see what happens.

Alexander Bell was met with opposition when he first invented the telephone. People thought Elvis Presley and Rock and Roll was going to destroy society. And now people are saying the same about the internet and cell phones. Yet now kids in the United States can collaborate and share ideas with another kid living in Europe. It's not all bad. The only difference is that technology is changing so rapidly compare to decades ago that people are not given as much time to adjust to it. I mean, we're here arguing about cellphones and other technologies yet, many of us are probably on our phones reading this thread and communicating with hunters that they would otherwise never ever communicate with without this technology. As far as kids having cell phones. My nieces have iPhones and my brother insists that they have the Find Friends feature installed and linked to his phone at all times otherwise their phone gets taken away. Now my brother simply has to check his phone and he'll know exactly where they are at any time. I'd say that's pretty useful tool.

Overnighter? I really don't need to see Pygmy running around the camp fire in his leopard skin thong.

Wouldn't mind adding a Ruger No. 1 to my list. Sucks they they discontinued certain calibers.

I went to California Hill for squirrels. I knew with the limited amount of time, the odds of me seeing anything was slim. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Got out of work early and squeezed in an hour or so of hunting. Haven't seen anything yet and it's starting to snow hard but it's good to be out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
That doesn't count because none of you got to meet each other or spoke. You just scurried in and out with your head ducked down and your hat pulled down low.

Not sure how willing people would be towards opening up their homes for online friends. Hunting clubs works well. Bars/restaurants would only work if there is a hard commit from members. I certainly don't want to make a reservation at a place for 15 and only 4 or 5 people show up.

Met NFA-ADK, Shawnhu, Biz, 13BVET, Martin, Magnumhunt, Lungshot1971, Borngeegee, left field, and a few others who don't frequent the forum anymore. I'm always open to meetup and was very disappointed that I had to miss one that was held in Long Island years ago. I think we should break up the meetup into at least two if not 3 separate meetups. A western zone, a southern zone, and a northern zone. Even Albany is a 2 and a half hour drive for me and even that will probably deter a lot of the guys in Long Island or south eastern edges of New York City. It'll definitely going deter many of those in the Buffalo/Rochester area.
