At 15 I thought I knew everything. At 25, I thought my 15 year old self was silly to think so. Fortunately now at 25, I knew everything. At 35, I thought my 25 year old self was silly to think so. Fortunately now at 35, I knew everything. Not quite 45 yet so as of right now...I think I know everything. I'll let you know what I think when I turn 45.

I read somewhere that they always send down one scout first before the rest follow so you're not suppose to shoot the first one?

Just seeing this now. Glad she's ok.

By the way...RIP George Michael. One of the better Christmas Songs and then passing away on Christmas Day.

Not sure if it was meant as a joke or not but people are calling "Baby It's Cold Outside" the Bill Cosby Rape Song. Basically the girl is trying to leave but the guy won't let her and part of her lyrics goes: The neighbors might think (baby, it's bad out there) Say what's in this drink? (no cabs to be had out there) I wish I knew how (your eyes are like starlight now) To break this spell (i'll take your hat, your hair looks swell) I find it rather funny and coincidental.

My life use to use the OtterBox because she is the clumsiest person in the world and she lets our 3 year old son play with her phone. When he gets frustrated, he throws her phone. She hate the OtterBox because it was big and clunky so she bought some cheap old slim case off Amazon for like $10. The real trick is to have tempered glass put on your phone. It's an additional sheet of glass that goes over your screen (not the plastic cover ones...actual glass). So when she drops it and the glass cracks, it's just the top layer and she has it removed and a new one placed back on. Verizon store sells and installs the glass for $25. There's a local chop shop in the 'hood that does it for $10. You can buy them online and install it yourself for cheaper but she's not going to haggle for a couple of dollars. Over the last couple of years she had the glass replaced 3 times. Trust me, she drops it a lot. So $30 (3X$10) and $10 for the case has her covered the last few years which is still cheaper than that $60 or so she paid for the OtterBox and it's a whole lot sleeker. Here's an example. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KNVF4SI?psc=1

My thoughts go out to you and your friend and their family.

Merry Christmas and welcome to the forum.

Looks really cool but I'm more inclined to invest in a $30 sling than a $300 backpack.

A hunter who is limited to a property that only contains 2 deer and he/she successfully takes one them versus a hunter who has a property that holds 50 deer and he/she manages two or three deer. Which one is the better hunter? This is not a competition because for it to be a true competition, the playing fields has to be even and in hunting, it is never even. You're measured only against yourself. Not against anyone else. I've sat in a blind facing a feeder in Texas and watched half a dozen deer feed there for like 1/2 an hour. At any point, if I wanted to pay the trophy fee, I could have shot any one of them but I also wouldn't have felt as if I was a better hunter if I did pull the trigger.

I 2nd @fasteddie. Most bows nowadays will get the job done when tuned properly and in the right hands. Feel out as many bows as possible. Shoot them if they let you. Pick the bow that you feel the most comfortable with and practice the heck out of it.

Is it these guys? I'm going to have to check them out. http://www.quakeinc.com/The-Claw-Rifle-Sling.php

I still haven't found the arrow that took the antlerless buck this Oct. Had a Montec in loaded in front.

I have two slings that I rotate on my rifles. Some times I'll grab a rifle to go hunting and forget to put one of the slings on it. In those situations, I end up carry the rifle in my hand without a sling. When I do bring a sling, it stays on the rifle even though I often carry the rifle without using the sling. I always carry a backpack and have yet to find a sling that will stay on comfortable with the back pack.
