  1. My wife was 100% Dominican until she took the test. Turns out, she was a product of Christopher Columbus.
  2. On a tangent. I recently did the 23AndMe DNA test. Waste of money for me as I'm as pure-bred as they come. My wife was much more interesting. She's something like 72% Spaniard, 15% North African, 8% Jewish, 3% Middle Eastern, and 2% Asian. I did it more for the health report. It's a peace of mind knowing I have no genetic disorders that can be passed down. I guess not only am I a pure-bred, I'm also a thoroughbred.
  3. I'm not going to take sides here but I would point out that "Arabs" and "Muslims" are "PC" terms and not considered derogatory or pejorative. Unlike the other terms used to describe Italians.
  4. Calling a kettle black there buddy.
  5. Don't worry, Larry. You're so awesome you get to Happy Birthdays!
  6. I'll most likely go, depending on my buddies schedule. Need to get him set up for the coming season. Might be late.
  7. Currently with Tapatalk, after I'll read several threads in Tapatalk but after I refresh, most of the threads I've read will reappear as if I had not read them. Not sure if it's an issue with Tapatalk or with the forum but it has coincided with when the upgrade occurred. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. This event starts at 8AM? Is there an archery range there if a friend of mine wants to do some practice/sighting in? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. Scout rifles are designed for fast/quick shots. As a new shooter, I'm not so sure if that's the best choice. Also, keep in mind, shooting at the range is different from shooting in the woods where you only have seconds to make a decision and there are 20 other things going on in you mind. You want to able to instinctively operate your firearm while juggling all these other thoughts in your head. Keep it simply. I recommend a traditional bolt action rifle.
  11. welcome to the forum and welcome to hunting.
  12. Prix fixed lunch at Eataly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. No they didn't. Look at the tempura vegetables. They're deep fried just right.
  14. I'm guessing lower quality of life. We work more hours and take less vacations. Our vacations even cost more. An education system that focuses more on math and science at an early age rather then about social development. More money spend on military funding and less on trying to fix the health care system; the mental health care system in particular. A shrinking middle class. These are some of my guesses.
  15. The 30-06 is a great trail cam picture.
  16. The first and only show I watched in the beginning was Meateater but his show was never really a "how to" type of show. At the time, his show was on the Travel Channel so I never subscribed to the Sportsman Channel. I then read a bunch of books, participated in this forum quite a bit, and spoke with several hunters. By the time I subscribed to the Sportsman Channel (now I also watch Jim Shockey's Uncharted, Randy Newberg, and some times I'll watch Dropped), there wasn't all that much that applied to me that I had not already read, seen, or heard.
  17. For a smile they can share the night...
  18. I like to dice them up and the stir fry them. My wife likes to bake them whole in the oven.
  19. When I need to put on a sweater. Note: Fall and hunting are 2 different things for me.
  20. Wooly pretty much sums everything up. If you want to take your photography to the next level, you simply have to learn how to use the manual controls. Plain and simple. Also, don't get too infatuated with megapixels. You don't really need that many megapixels.
  21. After meal (leftovers) snack. Jackfruit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
