  2. From USA Today: Along with the lifetime ban, they also were ordered to pay $1,000 each in court costs, $5,000 in restitution, had their weapons — a rifle and a crossbow — confiscated, must perform 100 hours of community service for the TWRA and were placed on 18 months probation. Still, I would have hit them for a lot more $ than that plus jail time. Bans mean nothing to a poacher. They were willing to illegally take deer anyway...why would you need a license to continue to illegally take deer?

  4. I hate the cold too but I don't complain. Most people I know who complain do so because they don't want to invest in cold weather gear or refuse to wear something other than their fashion show attire. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Many computers run slow because of all the crap users have installed that run invisible in the background. I don't know how old my computer is since it's a Frankenstein'ed out from parts from work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I called out two weeks ago due to the runs. I didn't want to risk not making it to the restroom in time. Was able to do some work from home though.
  7. Time travel is a small branch of the relativity theory also. According to Einstein, once you exceed the speed of light, times slows down and thus, if fast enough, time eventually stops.
  8. I'm zero'ed at 100. My one and only ML deer was roughly 50 yards.
  9. I "boomeranged" a cold a little over a month ago. I was sick, several of my staff were sick, then it came back to me and I got sick again. Nothing bad though. Only 2 of the 6 people in my office that I know of actual called out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Martin is referring to the Watershed lands which are owned by the city of New York thus not necessarily "public" per say. They're city owned and used for their reservoir system. Those lands you need a permit to hike on but the permit is free. http://www.nyc.gov/html/dep/html/recreation/access.shtml

Thanks. Everyone in my family does look very young. Of course become a dad instantly added a couple of hundred grey hairs to my head.
  12. Some sellers upstate will check, other don't. I've had some who asked for my DL to run the background check and the moment they saw that it was a NYC address on it, asked to see my permit. I've also had others who never checked. It all depends on the person and their knowledge of the law and how much they want to make it their business. As far as crossbows, it was mentioned to me before about it being illegal and I remember finding something about it online but now I can't seem to find anything about it. Has things changed? I tend to lean on the side of caution when there is uncertainty as I sure as heck don't want to have to lawyer up just to prove I'm innocent of any wrong doing.
  13. They meant getting a storage unit upstate so the rifle never has to enter the city.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have thousands of dollars invested in a full frame DSLR, L-series lens, etc. Yet, most of my pictures are taken with my iPhone. I simply don't want to lug around all the heavy and expensive equipment on top of my hunting gear. Only time I use the DSLR is when I know pictures will definitely be taken (birthday parties and events, on a vacation, etc). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Welcome to the forum. I have not hunted Pochuck but scouted there. Was told it's an orange army during gun season. Can validate that claim myself...just what I heard from the grapevine.
  16. I'm guessing front shoulder shot that came out the gut means it only took out one lung and the liver. I'm pretty sure double lung from a 243 and the coyote probably won't as far.
  17. Well it is a guniea "pig". Ha! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. The locals use coco leaves. It's the leaves that they use to make cocaine. In its natural form, it's more like weak aspirin. I've had it in tea and I've chewed them like chewing tobacco. Wasn't enough for me. You'll enjoy it. It's a beautiful country. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. They cook it every which way you would cook any game food. I've had it deep fried and roasted whole with sauce over it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Thanks. That's 75% of the spread. We ran out of room on the table. Chinese New Years is basically our Thanksgiving and Christmas rolled into one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
