  1. I believe sunset is 6:36 PM today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Potentially, Arizona's secondary can shut down Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders forcing Peyton to throw to Julius Thomas and Welker underneath in the slots. But, yeah, I'm leaning on the Detroit/Buffalo game being more of a shoot out.
  3. My wife keeps accidentally calling it Football Fantasy. I hear her on the phone. "Oh, he's doing his football fantasy stuff." I think she does that on purpose.
  4. Between Sammy Watkins against Detroit or Wes Welker against Arizona. Who should I start?
  5. Speaking of which. I had "unofficially" (by unofficial I mean when you know in advance that you're going to be sick) asked to be out Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday to hunt the opener of bow. Get an angry email from my boss on Wednesday saying he wants me in today to discuss some poor performances from my staff. So today, I'm back at work and boss didn't even come in today. Hope to be back in the woods tomorrow. I guess I can't complain too much since my boss even allows me to take "unofficial" days off.
  6. I've let out a super loud one once when trying to turn around for a doe behind me. It didn't seem to bother her. My inability to control my giggling might have though.
  7. That's pretty freakin' cool. You see so many cool things.
  8. When I viewed it on my phone, for some reason there was no #3. It was cut off. I see it there now that I'm on a computer.
  9. Talk about the unluckiest day. Putting a stalk on a doe. Had her trapped between me and my buddy when a gym teacher and 6 middle school kids run up behind me on a cross country sprint. We had a conversation and I told her she had as much rights to be there as we do but there are really no trails in here. She decided its best to run some where else. Thinking all the deer are now gone, went over to my buddy to tell him "can you believe this crap?". Jump 2 deer heading back to my own spot. I must be the unluckiest hunter today. 12. Better yet, Tapatalk takes me to where I last left off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. If you met me in the street, you would have no idea I hunt. Not to say I'm a closet hunter because anyone who asks me if I do, I tell them I hunt. I also tell some who I think are a little more open minded that I do. I simply don't throw it in their faces flamboyantly. You would be surprised how many of these people are also open minded if you approach them in a more warm and subtle matter. I have a friend I haven't spoken to since high school. I met him for lunch 6 years ago to catch up and found out he became an animal loving vegetarian. No contact since then. I then had lunch with him again a month ago and that's when I told him I took up hunting. I then explained to him the mind set of an ethical hunter and how we view the environment. I also explained to him how what's best for an entire species and Eco-system may not be what's best for a single individual animal. This vegetarian now has no problems with hunting. While he said he won't do it himself, he respects the views of those who do. I am sure there are also a ton out there that are not as reasonable and open minded but there are some that are. You will never find out of you hit them with an arrogant approach. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Yeah, read an article where occasional rare 400 plus shots are taken but most shots are 300 yards and under in any parts of the US. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Full drawn on a doe at 20 yards. Head down but facing me the whole time for at least a minute but never turn broadside. Eventually sniffed me out and ran. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I've never been on an out of state hunt (NJ don't count) so I don't know what it's like to hunt an animal from long expanses but I come from the school of thought that if you want to see if you can hit something from 500-600 yards out simply because you want to see if you can hit something that far then why not simply shoot at a paper target? When you're dealing with a animal that will run when it detects you then isn't the test to see how close you can get? All you need to know is what your "minute of ribcage" distance is stalk into that range. Have fun out there. I'm jealous.
  17. I think when they're restricting it to shotgun only, they're more thinking about the guys who are using the 300 win mags, ultra mags, etc. Not necessarily the guys who are using the 44 mag out of a rifle but it's easier to cast a wider net so you don't miss something you didn't think of.
  18. Squirrel hunting isn't the type you think people would shoot at simply in the direction of the noise since they are so small but I guess there are some unbelievable idiots out there. I stopped wearing orange in September squirrel hunts but I guess I'll have to start wearing them from now on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Welcome to the forum, Bruce.
  20. Guess not many people got it.
  21. Hello Poppy and welcome to the forum.
  22. Here. Explains it all and then some. http://www.theboxotruth.com/the-box-o-truth-46-shotgun-slugs-sabots-and-smooth-bore-barrels/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I kid you not. That was one hit. I've been hit before in previous years but never this bad. Went up to my stand, took one practice shot. Came back down, went back to the car, and to get an arm guard. I knew it was going to be my worst the moment I felt it. Of course, Murphy's Law. After I put the arm guard on I never hit myself again the rest the of the day.

  25. I haven't picked up my bow since last Oct. Picked up the bow again at the end of August. Sure, first day was horrible but by the 3rd day I was hitting around a 2" to 3" group at 30 yards. Final step was to shoot from my hunting spot which I did this Friday. Hit all my targets but I did ended up hitting my arm. Haven't done that in a while so I sometimes don't wear an arm guard. Guess there's still some rust there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
