  1. My previous major relationship was with a younger girl who was a go-go dancer who partied way too much. I was letting my other head do the thinking. I had a major headache all the time. In some ways I was relieved when it ended. Now I use the head that's on top of my neck and went with someone who's goals and views are like mine. This is us at Fire Island last year. She's Dominican but traces her ancestors to Spain. Not everyone seems to be able to figure out her ethnicity. And thanks everyone for the warm support.
  2. Everyone likes to think theirs will buck the odds and be like fasteddie's. Theirs not much to live for when hope is gone.
  3. HahahaI Whoops!...major typo. It's a she.
  4. Oh heck no. I'm lucky enough to find someone who pretty much lets me do whatever I want. he actually encourages me to go hunting sometimes because I get grouchy if I'm couped up in the apartment too long. So far I've been able to continue to do everything there except have money in the bank. Might decide eloping. Weddings are ridiculously expensive!!!
  5. In spite of the fact that I'm engaged, I still find this funny and in some ways true.
  6. Nevermind...3-pack. Still...that comes out to $25 each...way too expensive.
  7. Is that $75 for ONE broadhead?
  8. The "mountain men" who pioneered the frontier used the technology available to them at the time. I don't think being a mountain man necessarily means I have to make life hard on themselves. If that were the case, Daniel Boone would have chased buffalo's in a loin clothe and the stick and string. Who said you can't live off the land with little assistance from civilization while owning quality gear?
  9. Someone setup a donation for the poor lady and so far they've raised over $35,000. Now I wish some kids can insult me.
  10. That's a great looking buck. If I had a buck like that, I wouldn't have mounted him sideway though. Just kidding.
  11. In rare cases, ticks can turn you into a meat allergic vegetarian! http://www.cnn.com/2012/06/20/health/meat-tick-bite-allergy/index.html?hpt=hp_c2
  12. DEC sets the dates once hunting season comes around and they print out those regulation guide books. For the 3 shot rule. There's a little stick you can buy that you insert into your shotgun magazine. This limits the shotgun to only accept 2 rounds (and 1 in the chamber). My shotgun came with the stick already in it but my brother had to buy his since his shotgun was a defense model. One of his army buddy who hunts down in South Carolina told him he came out of the woods once after a duck hunt and a DEC officer was there and checked his shotgun to make sure it won't accept more than 3 rounds. Not sure if the DEC here does the same. Either or. I leave my stick in. I never felt a need to have more than 3 rounds anyway. My bro keeps his out and only puts it in when we go for crows. Not sure if you need the stick for crows but I guess it's better to be safe than sorry.
  13. I've been intrigued by the 45-70 round and I've always like the octagon barrel on the Henry lever actions. Unfortunately, the Henry 45-70 does not have the octagon barrel, is feed through the top of the tube, and cost more than the Marlin Guide Gun. I'll keep my eye on the Marlin Guide Gun instead.
  14. Norwood to Kingsbridge to Inwood to Riverdale. What gave it away?
  15. At least he doesn't discriminate. Even teddy bears need love too.
  16. Cut cost as in cost to manufacture the product. To increase profit, you either 1. Increase the price you're selling the item, 2. Increase sales (sell more of it), or 3. Spend less to make the product.
  17. I was out jogging yesterday and saw an old man pushing a grocery car with 3 of puppies with the mom trailing behind. My fiance' and I went up to take a look and she asked him if he was selling them. The old man replied $5. My fiance looked at him as if he was joking so she said "no, seriously, are you selling them?" He then responded, "why don't you make me an offer?" We looked at him with this confused look. He just shook his head and walked off. It wasn't until he was a little further down the road when I looked at his feet and realized he was a homeless man but regardless, I couldn't take in any another dog right now and don't know anyone who can. I'm just checking in the odd chance I bump into him again the next time I run in that area.
  18. Anyone know what breed Ellie is?
  19. You do have to realize, like in any business, products are made to order. In other words, China isn't making inferior products and forcing the US to buy them. Rather, it is the US who are looking to cut cost and increase profit that is asking China to make cheaper products. Same with jobs. It seems like we're angry at the other countries for accepting jobs that are being offered to them rather than attacking to fat cat big wig here in the US who are sending the jobs overseas. Take a look at all 500 Fortune 500 CEOs and tell me how many are minorities? Yet, no body seems to be pointing the finger at the guys who have squandered away billions and billions of dollars, cost hundreds of thousand of jobs but still walks away with hundreds of millions of dollars in a severance package.
  20. Finally saw that last episode. Justin was asked to sight in a black lever action rifle. He was also show in footage of him walking around with what looked like a bolt action 22LR. But Eutuce went out hunting in what appear to be a Ruger No. 1.
  21. The bio on the show's website state: Eustace was a hippie who when one day, while high on weed, decided he should buy 1000 acres worth of land and maintain it. So he went in with a partner and bought 500 acres a piece. I like him the least. I really do believe he's exploiting those kids and making them do his dirty work. If I was Justin, I'd be pissed too. Tom retired from the rodeo due to injuries and is living in Montana only because he doesn't want to burden his children who lives in Florida. Watching my grandparents when they were alive and watching my father now who refuses to retire, I can understand that. I find Tom endearing. Marty passion had always been trapping and given the fact that he moved to Alaska at the age of 25 with $10 to his name I'm guessing he didn't have many other options. Not many people pick a career path knowing they'll regret it later on in life and once they're in, it's hard for them to just switch careers. With that said, based on the value of fur I find it hard that he can make a living solely on trapping to be able to afford a plane, fuel, snow mobile, etc. Something about his story doesn't add up.
