I use the Contour ROAM. I was debating between it and the GoPro but went with the Contour for it's sleek design. The GoPro is rated as a much better camera for pitcure quality but think the Contour attaches better. I haven't bought the bow mount for it either and I'm trying to find a better way to mount it on my rifles even through I find it to be a bit of a waste on the rifle. Like Gallego said, these cameras fisheye everything so everything looks far away. With a rifle, your targets tends to be far to begin with.

Haha! Good one! -
Some one told me once he shot a buck in the shoulders with a mechanical (rage 2) and it didn't penetrate the shoulder blade. Maybe fixed blades offer more "oompphh"?

Took the airgun out this pass Saturday to a WMA looking for pigeons and starlings but couldn't find any. I guess they're only around where people are.

Where's these public land that you speak of? Which ones, I should rather have said.

Bloomberg has officially lost his marbles. He stated that the best way to push for a ban on guns is to have every single police officer in the country go on strike at the same time. Really? Total anarchy is the answer. If anything, that would only spur gun sales as citizens are forced to defend themselves. The one good thing about it is that he can't run again. Unless of course he pulls another one of his tyrant acts and change the law again so that he can serve a 4th term.

Is America the Greatest Country in the World
Elmo replied to wdswtr's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
It seems like whenever anyone criticize the US, they're immediately labeled as unpatriotic and a commie. All kidding aside, I think the US is the greatest country in the world and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else but it certainly isn't perfect. No country is perfect so therefore there is always room for improvement. There are certain things other countries do better than us. The first step in towards improving as a country is to recognize that there are flaws. That there are areas to which we can improve. I might not know all the answers (otherwise I would run for president) but it doesn't mean that we shouldn't recognize and verbalize some of these flaws. -
Is America the Greatest Country in the World

Yeah, I wouldn't mind moving to Tahiti either if I can afford it. -
There's a compnay called SHE outdoors or SHE safari or something like that which design hunting clothes, apparel, and accessories for women hunters. Not sure but they might have something like that.

Welcome to the forum, Bill. I always enjoy meeting up with other hunters and sharing a hunt but unfortunately you're a bit of a ways from me. Did a small game/camping trip in Stratton Mountain a couple of years ago. Didn't catch anything but it was a great time none the less.

Bill, How's crow? I never thought of eating them since they tend to feed on carcass some times. Wouldn't there be concerns about diseases?

You live the life, papabear. Wish I could what you do. Instead, I'm stuck in an office staring at the clock.

So true. Doing so would also make trasportation across state lines simpler.

Not sure if upstate is different but for NYC, you also need several charater references and you have to go through an interview. Of course references can always be "manufactured".

As much as I hate restrictions and having freedom taken away, I don't mind having something in place to seperate sane law abiding gun owners such as myself from being grouped in the same category as James Holmes.

I agree. While some laws are a bit ridiculous, I find comfort knowing that there are certain laws in place. I know someone personally who served briefly in Iraq and suffers from PTSD. He's easily agitated and gets angry by just being slightly provoked. He has thought about getting a firearm and I'm telling you, 2nd amendment aside, this is not someone who should have one. Also, I think the government should turn their focus away from making it harder for people to obtain firearms legally and focus more on making it harder for people to obtain firearms illegally.

Review Video: Small Game Archery Head
Elmo replied to TheFieldArcher's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
Have you tried blunt heads? I bought one but it doesn't fly straight. Wonder if that's just the particular one I bought or all blunt heads. -
I place the pin on the target even before I draw back and then withtout removing the pin from the target, I draw back slowly. Of course it's impossible to not completely tremble at all but for the most part, I try to keep my pin on the target the whole time.

Wow. The anti's are out in full force. Every newspaper article I open is bombarded with it and my facebook feed is filled with it.

Not to include the fact that you're trying to hit on person in a moving crowd with hundereds of people running right at you about to stampede you. It's going to be tough.

Oh man, at work they just installed a espresso machine
Elmo replied to burmjohn's topic in General Chit Chat
At my peak I use to drink 8 cups of coffee a day. And they're the kind of coffee that looks more like used motor oil than tea. Now I've cut it down to only 3 cups a day. If they ever install something like that at work I'll never get any work done since I'll stand next to the machine all day and never leave. -

100 is not a record in NYC. I've remembered several 100 degree days in NYC.

Also check in the sale section on this forum. You'll find several people selling their old rifles.
