    shaving

Once a week or week and a half. Depending on how lazy I am.
  2. I have a Mossberg 500 combo. It came with a 18.5" smooth bore and a 28" field barrel with modified, improved cyclinder, and full chokes. They're selling 20" and 24" barrels for the Mossberg 500 with the same 3 chokes for about $200 a barrel. I'm just wondering if it'll have a drastic effect on my shooting/accuracy if I bought the shorter barrel? It seems like you guys prefer the shorter barrel so I'm guessing it doesn't have a significant negative impact on your shooting?
  3. I was thinking of going down to 20" to 24". Weight was probably not the right choice of words. I meant cumbersome. I use the field barrel more for small game in shotgun only zone more than I do for waterfowl. For small game, I tend to do a lot of trekking and the long barrel constantly gets caught up in branches.
  4. Is there a significant difference in accuracy between a longer barrel and a shorter barrel. Some people say a longer barrel provides better balance when swinging but I hardly ever swing. Maybe that is something I should be doing. I have a 28" field barrel on my Mossberg but I would prefer something shorter and lighter.

    shaving

Last X-mas I won a shaving gel (the ones that come in a bowl and not a spray can) from an office white-elephant office party and I was thinking, "what the hell am I going to do with this?" So it sat in my medicine cabinet for a whole year. My girlfriend kept asking why I don't use it and I kept saying I would need a shaving brush for it so she went out and bought me a shaving brush. Holy Moly! I can't go back to regular shaving foam/gel again. I can literally shave with a rusty axe and I won't cut myself.
  6. ??? 22 rimfire nt allowed? This state wide?
  7. Depends on what you want to do with it, no? If you just want them dead then I'd imagine a .50 BMG will also work.
  8. Ah, yes. Forgot about that. I haven't been back since regular gun season ended.
  9. Okay, cool. Never explored that side of the forest before. I've always stayed on the west side of Ridge Road.
  10. Ok. I thought he was referring to the lot system that Stewart has. They only allow one car per hunting zone/lot. Will coordinate when we get closer to the weekend. Dave - Yes, Stewart is shotgun only. No 22s.
  11. Haven't been to Stewart since gun season started. My only complain against Stewart is that I prefer the 22 on squirrels. I always see a couple of squirrels when I go there but 50-60? Never seen that many ever. When's the next time you're going 13BVET?
  12. ??? Not sure what you're asking for. I was going to buy the Henry Lever Action Frontier Model in .22WMR but cancelled the order due to the 5 round limit in NYC.
  13. Cancelled Henry Lever Action order. Swapped it for a Savage 93R17 TRR-SR. I guess Mayor Bloomberg thinks I shouldn't have a plinking rifle and I shouldn't practice rapid target acquisition.
  14. I've done everything by the books so far. Any know the penalty for possessing an unregistered firearm would be. If it is anything more than a slap on the hand I won't think it's worth it.
  15. I stand corrected. Out of curiousity, say an invader breaks into you home. Grabs your TV and runs off. You give chase and shoot him/her in the back right while he/she is still on your lawn. Legal or not?
  16. There has to be a preceived evidence of physical threat. If they're just ransacking your living room for valuables then your job hide in the closest and let them take everything. Messed up but that's how it is.
  17. Slingshots and blowguns are illegal in NYC. If someone held me up with a blowgun I might just bust out laughing so hysterically, they'll be able to take my wallet while I'm still rolling around on the floor laughing.
  18. Virgil, While I agree that having laws in place prevents some criminals from getting their hands on certain weapons but until the law completely bands manufacturers from making magazine that exceed 5 round clips, criminals will still get the hands on illegal weapons. If the criminal is already going around the system, what's the point in strengthening an already existing restrict rather than blocking the holes in the system? The best analogy I came make to argue this point is one where the government is putting an extra lock on the door because a criminal broke in through the window. Now, every time I need to get in, I have to use two keys yet the criminal is still entering through the window.
  19. I believe you can so as long as the meat is farm raised. Can't legally sell wild game meat since the FDA has no way of regulating its quality.
