  1. If only you were selling this a couple of months ago.
  2. I have a very heavy Bronx accent with a dash of Chinese in there. Makes for a weird one that a lot of non-New Yorkers have a hard time placing. And you forgot that we drink carw-fee in the morning.
  3. I think 24" would be the perfect length. My brother has the 20" and that might be a bit too short for proper balance. $175 is almost the cost of a new gun. I might try to sell of my 28" in the off-season to offset the cost.
  4. Would love to trade in my Mossberg 28" field barrel for a shorter field barrel.
  5. I bought the Mossberg 500 Field/Security Combo. Comes with a 28" field barrel and a 18" security barrel. Can't remember but I think I paid around $450 for everything (including tax). You can get the field/deer (28" field and 24" rifled deer barrel) combo which would fit your needs. Guys on this forum will probably tell you the Mossberg isn't that great and steer you towards something that cost a bit more. I find for the price you pay, the Mossberg 500 is as good of a bang for you buck as you can find. Absolutely no pun intended. http://www.mossberg....0/NEW/54264.jpg See item 54264 http://www.mossberg....3&display=specs

    Cleaning up

Annoys the heck out of me. If you had the bag/pocket to carry it on your way in, you can as easily carry it on your way out.
  7. I'd prefer the one buck rule as the lesser of the two evils.
  8. Coming from a photographer, all my camera lens have a clear UV filter screwed to the front and I never take them off. Since they're clear, they don't effect the quality of the light passing through the lens at all and if I ever drop the camera, scratch up the glass, or what ever, I'm just replacing a $15 filter rather than a $2000 lens. I don't know why scope manufacturers don't come up with a similar system.
  9. I can't remember the region or state but their process was that you receive an either sex tag and if your bought in a doe, you get another either sex tag but if you bought in a buck, then they don't get another tag and their season is done.
  10. It's not the needs of a Westchester and NYC girl versus Buffalo. It's more 27 versus 37. My girlfriend is 33 and we've been together for less than 2 years. This X-mas, she doesn't want any jewelery or shoes. She wants me to spend the money fixing up the place. Marriage and children is on top of her mind while the latest trend comes in second...even if it's a close second.
  11. Larger corperate jewelers naturally go through more of a "mass production" process and thus develop a more "generic" reputation. You're buying a "reproduction" rather than the "original" model. If your wife is cool with Kay's then who cares?

    still have

I had big plans as well. Both my brother and I won out DMPs but my brother started a new job, I lost access to the spots I had scouted, and then we had the death in the family. I might try some bow in the late season but I enjoy using a rifle more so I'll switch gears to predator and small game for the most part.
  13. No, I didn't expect it but then again, it didn't cost me anything other than 10 seconds of my time to post.
  14. Years ago I was looking to add a puppy to my household and came across this one online. I emailed the owner of it's availability and they said that the one I was looking at was already sold but that they had sold another one earlier and that owner was a traveling missionary in Africa. The puppy was not adapting to the weather condition in Africa so they can put me in touch with that owner to see what can be done. I gave them my number and a day later, received a call from Nigeria. Person gave me an "interview" to see if I would be a caring owner and then agree to allow me to adopt the dog. I simple had to send money for the shipping charges. I had already started to catch on that something wasn't right and so I looked on line and found this to be a common scam. The "owner" kept calling me and I kept on trying to buy time by telling them I would send the money, I just haven't gotten around to it yet. I then contacted the Internet Crime Bureau and told them the situation. They said #1. They don't deal with anything less than $10K and #2, since I haven't sent them the money yet, no crime has been committed. I said wait...so if someone is trying to kill me, I have to let them kill me first before I can report it? Their response was simply "unfortunately...yes." The next time the "owner" called me about the money I told them I was on to them and that it must've sucked for them wasting all those long distant calls on me. I never heard from them again. It sucks but calling someone to try and scam them isn't a crime until you're actually scammed.
  15. Thanks, all. Oh, btw. I thought she was 85...but someone said she was 89 so I doubted myself...turns out I was right...she was 85.
  16. After 6 days, my grandmother officially passed away this morning at 8:42 AM. She went peacefully and painlessly. A remarkable women and one of the most humble and caring person I've ever known.
  17. Let's not get into a Eli Manning debate. That'll be another long topic. Giants lost to the Packers because Perry Fewell kept on rushing 3 linemen at the end like he did against the Eagles and Saints. The Giants strength is their pass rush and yet you only send 3 linemen? Packers kept 5 linemen back. One handled Canty and Tuck and JPP both got double-teamed. Aaron Rodgers could have sat down and drank a cup of coffee before making a pass.
  18. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into them next year when I plan on getting the Savage 220F.
  19. I have a backpack with my tag, compass, first aid kit, flashlight, paracord, and a knife in one of the compartments. Items in this compartment are never removed so everytime I go out, I alway bring this pack.
  20. My fav's Simi - Cabernet Sauvignon. Second would be Alamos - Malbec.
