  1. All seriousness, Notre Dame got famous for being in Paris and being in films but as far as importance and grandeur, where does it rank compared to any of these: St Peter's Basilica Hagia Sophia St Patricks Cathedral Cistine Chapel The Pantheon Mont St. Michel St. Mark's Basilica St Basil's Cathedral Sagrada Familia Chapel of the Holy Cross Las Lajas Sanctuary Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris Westminster Abbey etc...
  2. You might not this answer either because it's not PC but I'm an atheist. There are tons of churches everywhere. They all for the most part look the same. But I'm not here to compare Buddhas to churches. Again, I'm an atheist. I'm here because you're comparing a church that can be rebuilt to thousands of human lives that were lost in 9/11.
  3. If history is so important, the this has it beat. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/afghanistan/1326063/After-1700-years-Buddhas-fall-to-Taliban-dynamite.html As far as "no single attack or accident has killed more people then 9/11? Hiroshima and Nagasaki may have by a bit don't you think?
  4. Last year, the NL East sucked. This year, all the teams except the Marlins got better. Nats got Corbin and but virtue of addition by subtraction when they got rid of club house cancer Bryce Harper. Phillies got better by adding Robertson and Harper who's a-hole'ness is negated by the fact that the entire city of Philly is filled with a-holes anyway. Atlanta kids are a year older and they added much needed veteran leadership in Donaldson and McCann. Mets shored up their depth. Which was what killed them last year.
  5. Fortunately for the Yankees they play in one of the worst divisions in baseball. Now the NL East...that's a division. There won't be a wild card coming out of there because they'll play each other so much and will beat each other up. No one is going to win 90 games in that division.
  6. Michael Jordan famously said the hardest thing to do is winning again after winning the championship because all the players like to take their foot off the pedal that off-season.
  7. I know a couple of people who are perfectly heathy with service dogs. They volunteer at hospitals. They bring in their dogs to visit the patients and studies shows that this promotes healing. There are selfish benefits to the deal but it wasn't a purely selfish reason. One of them has never ever flown with his dog so he has never reaped the benefits. The problems is that the clarification of those type of service dogs are the same as the ones those with owners that have actual disabilities. Still, the dogs has to go through a test and get licensed. My guess is the person the OP described faked his. A true licensed service dog would not act the way the OP described.
  8. When I walk around the city after a big storm, I see all kinds of plastic bags hanging on trees. I doubt people decided to throw them up there. Most of them were disposed of properly. Releasing balloons during events is another act I think people should stop. I bring a thermos with me every morning when I get my coffee. I hand them the thermos and they fill it up for me. Keeps my coffee warmer and I can throw it in my bag without worrying of it spilling. Those canvas bags are also easier to carry. Doesn't dig into my fingers as much. It's not that hard.

  10. Justice is not about being black or white. It's about having green.

  12. I know it's not your intentions but this meme makes it seem like it's mocking all how wear head garments including Sheikhs.
  13. Rinella isn't perfect. The draw for Rinella is that he is articulate, is verse in navigating and taming the anti-hunting crowd, and is genuine. And by being genuine, he is also flawed...just like any other person. I asked him once that that since his brand at the time was all about eating what he kills, what he thought about coyote hunting or even shooting European Sparrows since they're an invasive species? His response essentially sums up to not really caring about a the death of a European Sparrow. My other knock on Rinella is that as an ambassador to hunting, he doesn't travel much and therefor doesn't have a broader sense of different cultures. Hard to comment on African hunting when he himself admits that he has never been to the dark continent. Our expectations of TV/Radio personalities to being perfect is wrong. In the end, I'm not looking for someone who agrees with me 100% but rather who seems to make more right decisions than wrong.

    I'm a sucker for cool cans/bottles.
  15. Boston might be in trouble in the near future. They're already in luxury tax hell and they have Xander's free agency at the end of the year, Mookie Betts extension, and JD Martinez opt out looming.
