16 games of Jordan Matthews is better than 6 games of Sammy Watkins.

    Nyc hunting

I'm not too far from there either.
  4. Also less clean up when processing in the woods. I processed in my dad's garage and he said it smelled for several days. The second time I did it in the garage, I bleached the crap out of it but it means scrubbing. Doing in the woods, I lost some meat but like you said, it's the small stew/burger/sausage meat scraps so it's not that big of a deal.
  5. Well mean personally, I'm not restricting myself to bucks and I don't have a Xbow so I'd burn my either sex tag so I can hunt during gun season.
  6. Just out of curiosity, what caliber is it?
  7. Ordinance rules states that you have to be at least 150 feet away from occupied structure to discharge a bow so most people who live near the city fall into that category. You can bypass the 150 feet rule if your neighbor gives you permission.
  8. Muley or Elk, the left side of the road is a ridge so it looks like it already had a good 5 feet of elevation before it even jumped. The road is a single land road so it what? 8 feet wide tops? I'd say it could make that jump without any problems.
  9. You can leave it in the field. They just ask that it's done out of the way if it's a public use area. Hikers complain when hiking a trail and they see a carcass along the way. Whatever you leave behind will be gone in a few days due to scavengers. They gotta eat too. Some wardens do want the organs for sex. I'm not completely certain about that part. The game bags are simply to keep the meat clean from dirt and leaves while keeping good air circulation to prevent rotting. Honestly, they're more designed for long hunts out west or the Adirondacks where you've hiked in hours or even days from your car. I've processed in the woods before, carried it out to my in simple garbage bags and then dumped into a big Rubbermaid tub in my car and the meat didn't go bad. The one restriction is in DEP lands. They require you to process at least 100 feet or yards (can't remember) from a water source as they don't want blood or other contaminates getting into the water supply. I follow this rule even on none DEP land.
  10. Started new job 4 months ago means no paid leave for some time. Expecting another new hunter at the end of Sept means no unpaid leave for some time.
  11. There was another one done with Robert Blake as George and Randy Quaid as Lenny.
  12. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and everyone has the right to voice their opinions but stuff like this part here is what scares me.
  13. There was one where I had to pass a proficiency test and then check in at a station whenever I hunt there. Climbers only, no ground hunting. It's near Somers. I passed the test and even got my hunting ID from them but I never actually ended up hunting there. Too much of a hassle.
  14. Another spot where you can practice broadheads is Blue Mountain Sportsmen Center. Again, you need to bring your own targets since broadheads tear up targets designed more for field points.
  15. Can't over state what Adkhunter1590 said. Get familiar with your climber to the point where you can put it together properly and get up a tree in the near day with nothing but a petzl head lamp. Practice, practice, practice. More hunting death and injuries came from a result of tree stands than anything else other than maybe hypothermia. If you're not confident with the climber, forgo the climber. A deer is not worth it.
  16. I'll take a look one day and maybe bump into you. Hopefully I'll inadvertently push some deer your way.
  17. Pro Lines is indoors so I highly doubt taking your climber there would do you any good. If you really want to practice, I recommend taking your climber up to one of the multiple use areas upstate, hike into an area where you're away from everyone else and just climb a tree. Get comfortable with the climber. Once you're comfortable enough, bring a target with you next time. If you don't want to buy a target, get a potato sack and stuff the heck out of it with old clothes and towels. I mean pack the heck out of it. Now there might be some minor rules as far as practicing in a public park even one that allows hunting but I'm not an expert on that so I can't comment on it. If you find a secluded area....well, that's on you.
  18. Heard of it but never been nor ever looked into it.

Another weekend, another baby shower/kids birthday party. The sad story of my life. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Great event, great people, lots of information, plus free food. What's not to like? If you're new to hunting or simply want to improve as a hunter you should definitely go. I went last year and learn some tricks on calling.
  21. I agree that if someone wishes to serve the country, they sex and sexual orientation should not matter but when it comes to the frontline, abled body males will get the vote each and every time. I understand that there are some women out there that will out perform some men and there are some gay men who has more balls than some straight men but it's not like they have years to get to know each other. If I told you that I am going to randomly pick a person and whether you live or die will be purely on this person's performance in the battlefield each and everyone one of you will hope that the person I pick comes out looking the The Rock.
