  2. To add to Pygmy, I also say up to 50 yards advantage 22mag. 50 to 125 yards it's even but I'll still give the 17HMR an advantage for accuracy. 125 yards plus it's all 17. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Speaking of Coney Island... Not a fan. Way too fruity and no hops. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Might want some gloves. They do have rodent teeth, no? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. If this dog has bit someone before, why the heck did this crazy lady let it run loose? She doesn't deserve to have pets. Sue her. Glad you're okay though. And yes, if I had CC, dog would have been shot.

    Why a bow?

Being able hunt longer. Having more access. Being closer to the animals and interacting with them before they've been all spooked. Not having to deal with the orange army. Not having to freeze my butt.
  7. Whenever there's stupid laws, I always think law makers are dumb but I also think there's probably some idiot who did something stupid that snowballed into a stupid law to get enact.
  8. #1. Good luck with legally getting a suppressor in NYS. #2. You see a heck of a lot more deer during bow season...especially on public land. And they're less on edge. #3. When I said the law throws a wide net, I mean sure...in reality, would I really be hunting a deer with a snub nose .380? Yeah, but if I'm carrying a Smith and Wesson Model 629 Hunter in .44 Magnum with a scope on it, would it give me a advantage over my bow? It's still technically a handgun. Obviously the bow hunter with the snub nose isn't going to hunt deer with it but the law makers either were too dumb or simply didn't care when they made the rule all firearms.
  9. A couple of years ago my lifetime didn't show up till the very end of August. I called DEC and they told me I could use my last years license till I get the new ones because the officers all knew they we that far behind.
  10. And I agree with you but you know how these law makers always like to cast wide a net when they make their laws.

  12. Try to explain to the DEC officer that you weren't trying to poach a deer with it.
  13. As an Asian, I always take my shoes off when I'm home (or any other Asian home) so technically I've been practicing grounding/earthing all my life and didn't even know it.
  14. I've bumped into a homeless person in the woods once. They just gave me a friendly wave and scurried away as if embarrassed. Came across another homeless person's tent at another location but no one was "home". Ran across a devil's pentagon made out of twigs laid out in the woods also. Didn't see anyone around and most likely done by some kids as a prank. It was gun season so I had my firearm with me. That said, during archery season and/or in bow only areas, you're not allowed to carry while bow hunting.
  15. Man, I just got out perverted by @turkeyfeathers. I have officially "grown up".
  16. Some times it's good to have a little lead in your diet. It's called "mineral" water.

  18. Go to DEC's website and find their interactive map. They show all the DEC public lands. You'll see several in Orange, Putnam, Suffolk, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  20. First off....Why Dutchess and Columbia if you're going public land? Tons of public land much closer to you. Like everyone said. Practice, practice, practice. Normally, you practice shooting a bow at a stationary target on at ground with no wind. Much different when you're in the woods shooting from uneven ground, you're freezing, and you've been holding the bow up for several minutes because the deer is hesitant to take the next step out into the open. So besides practice, practice also in similar conditions to simulate what you'll encounter in a real hunting situation. Scout. There is no ifs-ands-or buts about it. The one beauty of bow hunting is that you're forced to become much more intimate with the deer. You need to know where they are bedding. What and where they are eating. Where they're getting their water from. What time they're getting to do these things. How weather effects their routine, etc. That is what real hunting is about. People can put you in front of a deer and you can shoot it but that's not hunting. That's shooting. You can read all these things in a book but every deer in each area behaves a little differently and you need to get to know the deer in the area you're hunting at.
  21. Spoke with a former golden glove before about the Pacquiao/Mayweather fight and he put it best. He said and I quote to the best of my memory: "Pacquiao is a fighter and Mayweather is a boxer. In a fight, Pacquiao would win hands down but unfortunately this is boxing and Mayweather is one of the best boxers of all time. People hate the fact that he's dodging and ducking but that's what boxing is. That's why they call it the sweet science. It's that people want to see a fight and they forget that this is boxing." I second Belo's opinion. I can't stand the fact that this ignorant, obnoxious, ungrateful, wife beater is getting that much money. He is the least deserving person. Makes it even more annoying is that in a fight, I'd probably kick his ass. He couldn't even take on T.I. in a fight and T.I. is like 140 lbs soaking wet. I really want someone to shut Mayweather up and give him his first lost. But this is boxing and McGregor has no experience as a boxer in a professional level going up against one of the greatest of all time who's been at it for decades. It's not even fair. This whole thing is a gimmick and it's a disgrace to boxing.
  22. Happy birthday! I made it just in time!
