Open bar at my neighbor's home tonight and I still opted to roll with the Dark Chocolate Stout (again). Got out of there before he started pouring me a shot of grappa!
-
You polishing that off? How long will it keep in a growler?

Annual Chrisrmas Eve dinner party next door with my neighbors. No wide angle lens on my cell to capture the King's spread they put out: Prime rib, calamari, homemade pastas, sausage and meatballs, a metric ton of hors d'ourves and literally 9 trays of Christmas cookies. Pretty sure I could fit into the red suit now!
-
I would gladly try one of your true venison burgers for comparison.

No way. The NYSRPA posted a number (I don't have it handy) of the millions of dollars that NYS earns from sportsmen and license fees. It's in the tens of millions. And yet, those NYC liberal cretians treat us like a bunch of stupid rednecks, shoving the un-SAFE Act down our throats. I don't know how any sportsmen could trust Cuomo to act in our best interests. Turn the fines collected from poachers into a substantial revenue source and you'll see the bloodsuckers in NYC ramp up enforcement in a NY minute.

Merry Christmas and good tidings to all of you! I hope your blessings at home and afield are bountiful.

Teasing an Italian with a canoli pie...at almost midnight...that's just not right!
-
Damn, that looks awesome! You had to post this right before my bed time, huh? Now I want to raid the fridge!
-
This is the bacon burger recipe we used. Burgers topped with smoked maple cheddar cheese and raw red onions on a multigrain bun. Tons of flavor!
-
This is the only answer.
-
TF, your beer game is seriously ON POINT.
-
Your Christmas cookie game is strong!

Watching Tim Allen's 'The Santa Claus' and enjoying a Dark Chocolate Stout.

Man, you're obtuse. Did this method "better predict" your doe's meat haul? Nope, it failed miserably. You were off by over 33% (60 lbs estimated by you vs under 40 lbs as again estimated by looking at volume in a pan). This started out as a good thread about a scale, something I'd like to invest in for next season. If you can't speak to actually using a good scale, then kindly stop cluttering up the OP's thread.
-
If you're going to quote the Bible, at least finish the sentence: "but He delights in accurate weights." Proverbs 11:1
-
You're obviously a good hunter with 3 harvests this season, but what's with the stubborn obfuscation over weighing meat? I thought this thread was about a quality Hanson scale and measurement accuracies? I'd like to learn/read more about that, not how tape measures and eyeballs can justify whatever weight someone wants to brag about on a hunting forum. By the way, is this the doe you're referring to? Looks like you hit her in the rear end which would lead to meat loss, not because she had a lot of fat to trim. You didn't mention that above.
-
I trim as best as I can then the grinder becomes the grand equalizer. Brats and bacon burgers for me. Although, my favorite restaurant makes an amazing pork shank osso bucco so maybe I should try this next season.
-
Maybe you could do the same, with pictures.

Or Dave Winfield? https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thestar.com/amp/news/insight/2013/08/02/the_dave_winfield_seagull_incident_vs_toronto_blue_jays_at_exhibition_stadium_30_years_later_an_oral_history.html

Yes, this tastes as good as it looks and then some! Garlic & pepper venison brats, simmered in Sam's Octoberfest, then wrapped in bacon and covered with brown sugar and cayenne pepper.
-
Goose Island Bourbon County. Super smooth! This beer is a perfect 10.

Yes, the fine is a joke, but the jail time should be used to make that joke a lot less funny. Hopefully, the revised law will address the pitiful fines.
