  2. Damn you Biz, between Machonoodle being a douche and you routing for Boston I find myself sitting here routing for a city I don’t like in a game I really don’t care about. Go Boston!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Hunt then beer, Lots of beer its Friday after all! Seriously though if shes moving through fast she might not disturb anything or even better bump something your way.
  4. Down to a 30-40% chance of rain on Sunday morning so things are looking better for being able to hunt. Hopefully I can get out with my Daughter but I don't want to bring her out if it's going to be raining all morning. I don't need to make her sick.
  5. I was shocked when I looked at the user name and it was you and not Pygmy!
  6. My mom picked up one that’s pretty big for something like $120. Works pretty good on all sorts of stuff. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I usually find most if not all of my deer on the ground. Hope this helps.
  8. What a bummer! Cheers to a healthy speedy recovery for both. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Quickest something, not sure taxidermist is the right term though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I was hoping to see I picture after reading your story in another thread. Great buck congratulations! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Leave the arm alone and just have them do something temporary to the high voltage sticker. My first thought was a subtle reference to “The Six Million Dollar man”. Better,Stronger,Faster. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. One awesome hunt is all I need. Even my one evening sit was pretty damn cool. Within 20 min of sitting down I had 2 fawns feeding in front of me at 15 yards and a good sized doe hanging back behind me. Spent almost a full hour keeping my eye on the doe while trying not to have the fawns realize I was right in front of them. It was good practice for trying to move in the stand without being noticed.
  13. Family is always first. I have not participated in a fair amount of things over the past 8+ years since we had our first born and honestly I don't mind one bit. I'm young and there is still a lot of time left to have fun on my own or with friends but the kids will only be young for so long. Ever person I have every talked to that has older children has always given the warning of watch out because they grow up way to fast. As a kid I always remember my dad being at just about every single sporting event I ever did whether it was just a practice or a game. If he was allowed to be there he was. I want my kids to have that same memory about me.
  14. I thought about buying a ticket but never did. Maybe next time.
  15. As the title says this thread is for those of us that a bummed out about the bow season for whatever reason. Lets commiserate together. Here's my reason why... I was really looking forward to this bow season. I shot quite a bit all summer long. Purchased new arrows and shot some more. So far I've only been out twice. 1 evening sit and 1 morning sit. The last 2 weekends where my own fault because my wife and I went on a fantastic vacation that I wouldn't take back even for my first bow kill. This weekend coming up Saturday is going to be dedicated to the kids and doing our annual pumpkin picking with a good friend of ours and their kids. After that we hang out all day have dinner together while the kids play. Looks like I can sneak out Sunday morning but with a 80% chance of rain I may just be staying home. Next weekend my wife works Saturday. If I get lucky I can get out in the evening then I'm free for the last 3 days on the weekend before the regular season opener which is the best time to be in the woods so its not all bad. I was just hoping to be out a lot more.
  16. I’m not a whole lot of help to you out here in WNY. But depending on your town you will probably need an architect to do a complete set of drawings for your house for permit. If I where you my first step in the process would be to stop down at your village/town/city building department and let them know you are looking to build a new home and you are looking for some direction and maybe even a recommendation of a good architect. They would rather help you before the project starts than shut you down in the middle of it because you didn’t do things right. And they know who’s good and who’s bad because they are looking at plans all the time. After that if you need an architect set an appointment with them just to meet and talk about the project. At this time bring your plans, thoughts, ideas, survey, pictures of houses you like online etc to the meeting. This will help get the ball rolling and the conversation start. Oh also budget, please have a budget in mind. There is a big difference between say a $250k house and a $300k plus house. After the initial meeting the architect should put together his proposal of what his fees will be and what his scope of work is. Out here the initial meeting won’t cost you it will only cost you once you accept the proposal. Your area may be different. The architect can also help you find qualified contractors to build your home if you need a little direction for that as well. That’s all I can think of for now. If you have any questions let me know I might be able to help. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Well based upon this thread and your instagram account alone I know that this company found the right person for the job. I believe your going to be such a natural fit for an ambassador. You really have a way of telling your story and how all the different prosthetics work. Before this thread I was clueless how great the technology is behind them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I have a pair of cabellas aluminum light weight ones I would wear for late season small game hunting. No complaints about them Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Looking for my spent round is usually how I kill time in the stand waiting to get down. Those black hornaday rounds are tough to spot from the tree stand. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Honestly never thought about it until Four Seasons pointed out the use of technology as a fine line of fair chase. Made me think of of old times when guys would spend summer and fall in the woods studying deer movement and planning their season armed with nothing but pencil and paper and their memory. To me a deer drive takes planning and knowledge. It still involves knowing where deer are at certain times of the day. Knowing their escape routes and how to cut them off. It’s not just lining a bunch of guys up and pushing the woods to another bunch of guys waiting to shoot. Although I’m sure that happens. I never gave technology and fair chase a thought until it was brought up. Some people view deer drives in a negative light hence my question back to Four Seasons. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Fair point but I think that can be said about any technology new and old. 2 way radios, game cameras, electronic callers, phones and apps etc. Also not saying you partake but do deer drives also fall into the fine line of fair chase? Those are as old as dirt but are a form of hunting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I'm the same as a bunch of other posters here, I need the distraction. When I was real young it was an am/fm radio in one ear. Then it was books and now its a combination of books and the phone. With out books and the phone I could only last a few hours in the stand and not the full day sits I do during the early part of the regular season. I also like to take naps in the woods when everything is real quiet so i'm sure i've missed a bunch of deer sneaking by and honestly it doesn't matter to me. I also think it helps as well. Between 2 way radios and phones our group has given the heads up on many deer headed one way or another that we where able to prep for before they even got close. Just 2 years ago I had a a nice buck cruise past me headed for a ditch that my buddy was sitting on the other side of. I sent off a text and 20 min later the bucked popped out 70 yards away from him. He was ready for him and the buck never stood a chance. Without the heads up the buck might have sneaked past unnoticed as it was an odd direction of travel in this particular area.
  23. Happy Birthday! May the magic hour treat you well.
