If it makes you feel any better I paid way to much money and way to many years off my life to also have a degree in urban planning and city design.......................................................................................................... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

yes the long term storage is usually the issue but what do I know I'm just an architect just ask @The_Real_TCIII

Run 87 all summer and before storing it for the winter put some fuel additive in it like seafoam and run it for a while before putting it away.
-
The short quick version your standard 87 you use is ethanol which has about 10% plant in it (think corn) Ethanol free is 100% oil. Ethanol in your vehicle is not a big deal but ethanol in your small mower/snowblower engine can cause issues with the carburetors and fuel lines and it will gum these up over time especially when they sit for months at a time without being used.

I just spent 4 hours on the golf course by myself, I was so so close to not wearing my mask but I kept in on because the wind was pretty strong and I didn't know if covid was blowing around...

She’s been behind a bolt action 22 for 2-3 years now. She can plaster a 10” gong at 100 yards all day long. She has some anxiety and anything new/different can be an obstacle or her to overcome which is why my search is towards a light recoil deer rifle. She loves hunting and being out at my club and the last thing I want to do is force her behind to big of a gun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If the 7mm-08 does everything the .243 does but better with almost no difference in recoil then I think it’s a no brainer to go with the 7mm-08. I guess my next step is to step her up from the .22 to the 7mm-08 slowly as she’s very tentative and can easily be put off from things because she’s uncomfortable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So sorry to hear Otto they truly are apart of the family and losing them is so hard. The pain gets easier over time but their memory certainly doesn't fade away.

I'll keep the Weatherby in mind and a rifle designed for a women in general in mind when I search for a gun. I didn't even know that was a thing. I knew they had youth guns but not guns designed for women. I looked it up real quick and the changes they made just make sense.

I have a bolt action .22 that she's been shooting. I like it for a couple of reasons. One it forces her to slow down and not just pull the trigger as fast as she can. Two being a bolt gun she's getting use to cycling the bolt after every shot. No joke when I switched from Semi auto shotgun to the bolt action it took me a good 20-30 seconds to remember that I had to manually cycle the gun after shooting a doe. Good thing the first shot was spot on and I didn't need a follow up shot because I completely botched it.

I only went 30-.06 because I won it in a raffle (and I wanted to be a real man for once in my life). If I was buying I would have went with the .270 for myself.
-
So the 7mm-08 seems to be the really really popular opinion and if I was reading correctly it's a necked down .308 right in the middle of the .243 and the .308. I've always heard that while legal the .243 lacked for White Tail's. Obviously I've heard that statement right with the "if your not shooting 30-.06 your not a real man" statement from the older generation so there is no science to back up what i've heard LOL. where does the 7mm-08 stack up against the 6.5 Creedmore? I'm not a huge fan of the 6.5. On paper it looks great but some real world experience I've seen the last 2 years has me thinking different on that round.

With the age of youth hunting on the verge of being 12 years old I find myself having to fast track my thought process on what rifle caliper to get in the now near future. My daughter will be 11 in a few weeks so that gives me about 1.5 years to get a gun and get her use to it if she is going to join me in hunting. Question is what caliper is better suited for a young girl who is tall but only weighs in at maybe 80 pounds. I feel recoil is the largest factor when choosing a rifle for her. My only experience is with 12ga, 22's and 30-06. The last 2 being way to much recoil for her to handle. I don't need to scare her off guns. Ideally I like the idea of a .270 as its a popular round and versatile but perhaps its on the high end of recoil versus maybe a 7mm-08 or a .243. Thoughts, opinions and experience is welcome.

Yes sir, I haven't quite gotten into green leafy drinks and plant based beef though.

Lol, I can't believe it took @The_Real_TCIII that long to scoop it up.

Those big fancy breakfasts are reserved for weekends when there are no morning plans. It probably took me over an hour to cook that breakfast. My oldest and I had the bagel sandwiches, my youngest had pancakes topped with strawberries and peanut butter and my wife had scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. Normally it’s a bowl of cereal or toast as I’m making coffee and lunches. Congratulations on the weight loss! We just started back up with 30 min of yoga in the morning. We wake up at 5:15am to get it in before we have to wake the kids up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What about a shade of red or a shade of blue? Make it pop and stand out. -

Vinyl board and bat might be the easiest to figure out and the most cost effective. I’d probably just go with it in white. Not a lot of colors will match the yellow siding and white trim already on the house. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I like changing up the top of the gable as well. Pull off enough to infill around the patio door then finish the gable with a different material like a cedar shake vinyl siding, scallop's or board and batt might even look ok up there -

Unfortunately nothing will be cheap to solve this problem. First picture is exactly what@apexerer said. Second and third picture adds a transom window above the patio door to chew up some of that space then wrap the door with a nice trim complete with a heavy cornice on top. Oh one thing that just popped into my head is to square off the existing vinyl siding so both sides are equal and the top is straight then finish it with board and batten siding. They even make vinyl board and batten now as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
