It would probably be fairly simple to build something to store it in under the deck.

You saying its absurd is your opinion, thats all.

Either way would be ok, inside a shed would be the best way though.

Taking of young bucks does it really make sense?

Biggest misconception going. Just behind it is that you have any control over the gene pool of a wild herd (unless its FSW we are talking about, and he is releasing farm raised bucks into the wild). -
If thats all hes using it for, Id go used. Look into an ATV with an engine brake. My side by side has it, and going down hill is super easy, unless its a really steep grade, I dont even use the brakes. For a trailer, just a standard 4x8 with a drop gate would be fine for a single ATV. If you want a side by side or to haul more than just the wheeler on there, then go bigger, like a 6x10. Im not sure if theres a Tractor Supply store down near you, but they sell them for a pretty low price. Any trailer dealer will have them.

Beans are starting to come down in my area the last week or so. Silage corn has been being chopped for weeks. Hay has been done within the last few weeks as well.

Great job! Nice buck!

Winter Rye plots Rape is doing well, and its starting to get browsed Ground blind setup -
Figured Id share a few entertaining videos from one of my cams. The first tow are of a fawn that saw its reflection in the black flash lens of my cam. Its reaction is great! This one I thought was kinda funny to catch

I practice out to 50, I can keep them in a pie plate out to there right now. Id be comfortable shooting a deer out to 50 with the right conditions. For most of my stands, 30 to 35 yards is the max.

Got down to the farms yesterday and installed the prusik lines in the hang on sets. I also installed the seat pads in the ladder stands and a few hang ons. One ladder stand had a seat frame that scraped on one of the vertical bars when you would try to flip it up or down. Pretty much made it unusable for bow season for me. I had my hammer with me so I beat the seat frame into submission. It doesnt rub any more and flips up and down nice and easy lol. I also setup the ground blind at the end of one of the brassica plots. Should be great to take the kids in. I noticed that scrapes had started opening up, so I moved a couple of cams around accordingly. Today I had to stop down again to put up one of the cams, and I noticed big, wide paths smashed down in the brassicas. I also noticed large piles of poop near and in both of the plots. As I was looking around, you could see a few places where the grass on the edge of the plot was matted down, like a deer bed but much larger. As I was walking back to the truck, I found another plie of scat, but this one had a pretty large bear track in it. I have never noticed bear sign at this farm before, but now I have a reason to do a few sits down near the plots. Id really love to have some bear steaks in the freezer! -
My first hunt on one of the farms will be Oct 16th in the evening. That one I know for sure. I have a spot that I used to hunt all the time where I may sit a couple of times during the first 2 weeks, but I wont be putting in much of an effort. I dont care if I blow that spot out.

What have you done this year to prepare for the 2015 season?
WNYBuckHunter replied to burmjohn's topic in General Hunting
You really should have your ladder sticks go just above the foot platform of the stand. Climbing off of the sticks and up onto the stand is really dangerous. -
Im going next year with my daughter. They are in one of the few zones with OTC bull elk tags. We are probably driving out so its easier to get the meat, etc back here.
