Something is skeletonizing my turnips.....

Nope, not that much so far. A little here and there. Once the frost hits them a couple of times the deer will hammer them. Thats how it works for us every year. -
Wow, really nice rifle. GLWS
-
Yep. Wooly, it looks like we might have the same blind. If you still have the hub centers for your walls and roof, you can do the same thing for @ $20. Its just a little time consuming to drill the fiberglass out of each cap. Oh, and my hands are full of fiberglass splinters today lol.
-
Worked like a charm too. Instead of using epoxy to keep the ends in the aluminum cups, I put a few wraps of duct tape on them and shoved them in there. That way if they break, I dont have to drill them out again.

What have you done this year to prepare for the 2015 season?

Fixed my ground blind tonight. Replaced a couple of broken poles with fiberglass driveway plow markers. Instead of epoxying them in the aluminum ends, I wrapped the end in duct tape and shoved them in there after drilling the old ones out. Should be nice and easy to replace them if need be. -

They have been hitting ours for weeks. They only seem to really be hitting the ground hog radish greens right now though, the PTTs and rape are pretty much untouched so far. -
I just drooled on my keyboard
-
I have to finish up lanes, seat pads and safety ropes on some of my stands this weekend too. Im not hunting the first 2 weeks, so no biggie.
-
Moisture holds scent. The sun and UV rays beating down on the scent molecules breaks them down pretty quickly.
-
Same one I use during gun season, it works well to keep most of the wind off my face.
-
I can guarantee you that I have known more deer hunters than you over the years, and I know of one that has had any reaction to gutting a deer, and he posted in this thread lol. Go back and read what I said, I never said it was just about how many germs you encounter. I would be willing to bet that more people get colds, the flu, stomach bugs, etc from handling money than you think.
-
I hope youve never gotten anything infected in a strip joint lol
-
You are exposed to far more germs and microbes on a daily basis than you will probably ever encounter gutting a deer. Think about how filthy a shopping cart handle is, or better yet, your money. How many times has that dollar bill been jammed down a strippers butt crack, or had someone step on it, pick their nose right before touching it, keep it in their pocket while they are sweating heavilly, or god knows what else? Im not worried about gutting a few deer each year.
-
During bow its face paint for me, during gun, mask.
-
The cart is still available. It is the same as this one, comes with 4 or 5 adjustable straps.
-
That happens every year at least once or twice lol
-
I wouldnt take my bow to Traditions if they offered to work on it for free.
-
Gotta figure out where hes bedding at and get closer to that area.
-
Nice pics. I shot a buck a couple of years ago that always looked fat like that. When I gutted him, his stomach was huge, and packed solid with corn. Ive never seen a deer's stomach that big before.
-
Ive gotten so I dont even post pics of the bucks we have anymore. You guys will see them when/if we kill them.

Honestly, you are hunting near bean fields, and by the time gun season rolls around, those beans will most likely be gone. I hate to say it, but the deer are going to change their patterns on you big time as soon as the beans are harvested. You really should be looking around the area and figuring out what the food sources will be come gun season.
