  1. I like the Nockturnals, they are easy to use, easy to install, affordable and just plain work. If you want to pony up and get the best ones out there, go for the Firenocks, you can get those ordered custom to what you want them to do.
  2. Every two weeks for me. I also put the vast majority of them in areas where equipment going through is normal, and I try not to get off of the ATV or tractor when Im swapping the card. In and out with as little disturbance as possible.
  3. It would most likely be far more effective than what they put on the books recently
  4. Happy Birthday! Have a few cold ones and enjoy your day!
  5. 1 - good 2 - probably 3 - fine by me 4 - nope, the current screwjob is at least 2 years 5 - yep for at least one more year
  6. I have a stand or two that are at the opposite end of the farm from where I enter. These are pretty good sized farms, not a 50 acre block. For afternoon hunts, Ill run to the other end of the farm with my side by side, park 300 yards or so away, and then walk to the stand. Ive done that and seen deer within 10 minutes of getting in the stand. I only do this for a few stands for time savings and so Im not all sweated up once I get all the way back there.
  7. I bring a sterno, a frying pan, some bread and eggs and whip up omlettes while I wait.
  8. I was practicing the other day and had one shot where my arrow deflected off of the shaft and fletch of another one that was already in the target. The arrow buried itself in the grass about 25 feet behind the target. If it wasnt for my lighted knock I would not have found it at all.
  9. I picked up new ones this year. Beaman ICS Hunters with 125gr G5 Montecs, Blazer vanes and Nockturnal lighted knocks. So far so good.
  10. Telegraph? When Eddie started hunting, they were chiseling messages on stone tablets!
  11. Will do. I dont think Ill get down there this weekend, too much going on. Next week I will for sure though.
  12. I dont think you understand the point. That doesnt surprise me in the least. I also dont think you understand anything about me or how/why I hunt, or what I do to give back to the youth, and hunting community. You can keep throwing other people/groups facebook sites or links out there all you want, but it all sounds like blah blah blah blah blah to me.
  13. Dont bother spending the cash on the buck in a bag Secret Spot, or Throw N Grow stuff. Buy a cheap bag of winter rye from your local Agway or farm seed shop. The vast majority of that buck on a bag stuff is rye grass seed anyhow. The winter rye will do fine, Ive used it in the woods on heavily shaded trails before with good success.
  14. I have to give Turners a call, have to get some WR this week to plant next weekend. I need a couple of acres worth.
  15. Yep, cant mess with the gun hunters' chances to kill a buck. Its fine for bow hunters though.
  16. I like to be in the stand 30 mins or so before it gets light during bow season, or if I have my daughter with me. During gun I wait till first light to walk in. If I wasnt in the stand before first light, I might miss my opportunity to shoot one 10 mins before legal time. Wouldnt want to miss out on that.
  17. Seems like they are all wintering just fine if the area is overpopulated. The bucks around me are packing plenty of headger, actually some of the largest, on average, in the state. The theory he gave is logical, doesnt hold water in the areas they carved out. Its all about population.
  18. Simple, because the doe only thing has nothing to do with yearling buck management or Antler Restrictions.
  19. You still have a couple more days to catch it.
  20. October, November, December, doesnt matter, they are dead before they give birth to new fawns. Thats no assumption, thats a fact.
