Looking for a camera arm in good shape for my daughter. Doesnt need to be a really high end professional one, just something she can use to learn with.

Still available -
I only have a few things left on mine. I need a new blind/roof kit for one of the double ladder stands, a camera arm for my daughter and a pair of rubber boots for her. I already got a new set of arrows and a bunch of new stands and ladder sticks.

Thanks! She actually cant hunt until next year, I wanted to get her courses out of the way this year so we werent scrambling next year. She will be out with me more this year than in the past. We have several double sets ready to go, she bought a video camera with her birthday money and will be filming hunts this year. Should be good prep for bow hunting. -
Looking for recommendations on a truck

Its not loud in the cab, you have a bunch of bed separating you from the noise. My kids sleep in the back seat all the time. -
So which way would you rather have it? The freedom to shoot the buck of your choice, or having the DEC tell you that you cant shoot a buck unless it has 3 or 4 points on one side? I will guarantee you, some new type of buck management is coming down the pike, whether you like it or not.

Yep, not bad for stock. Mine has a Flowmaster Super 40 on it and it sounds just plain mean. -
The either sex and antlerless tags you can use anywhere in the state are another management problem. All antlerless permits should be by WMU. Its a 2 buck tag system, no matter how you spin it, we are not talking strictly gun season. If you went to a 1 buck, use it with any implement you buy a license for, youd still have a buck tag for gun season as long as you dont use it in early bow.

Its not a true dual exhaust, unless its aftermarket, its a single in dual out muffler. Nice looking truck BTW -
It wouldnt make much of a difference in buck numbers, but it would tend to make more guys choosy on what buck they do shoot. Not everyone, but Id venture to guess that most would not shoot the first buck they saw and then wait for a larger buck, they would hold out for that bigger one to begin with. That would end up with the younger bucks having more of a chance to grow another year, so now you dont need ARs. More guys would be willing to shoot does for meat, so it would help with those issues as well.

I havent been thee since I was a kid. I ought to take my kids sometime, they would like it.

Spent the last couple of days at my daughter's bow hunters safety course. She scored a 98 on the test. Best grade in the class of 55 people. Shes very happy about that, and Im pretty proud. Her gun course is in 2 or 3 weeks. -
Ill be killing my does as I normally do. I wont be pressuring the bucks on the property until I can hunt them. Simple as that.
-
Im not sure either. I dont honestly mind the signover thing though. As long as its used in the WMU its supposed to, who care who fills it. JMO

Our bucks tend to really blow up at year 4. Some dont, but most do. He really needs 2 more years. -

After I got home last night I decided to get a little practice in with my bow. It started getting dark, so I set my phone up and took a couple of videos of the lighted knocks. I headed down to the farms to swap out trail cam cards last night. I got some pretty good videos and pics. I also got some good pics of the plots, which are doing well. First, here is our plot planted with DeerAg Double Beam Brassica mix... Next, here is the plot I put a generic Rape, PTT, Sugar Beet mix in with fertilizer... Last, here is the plot I put the same generic Rape, PTT mix in (minus the Sugar Beets) without fertilizer... I put the two plots in, one with and one without fertilizer, to show my buddy that we should be using fertilizer, and exactly what the benefit is. He just doesnt like using fertilizer for whatever reason. Here are a couple of pics of a 2 year old buck I have named Yardstick. I really really want to see him make it, he has such great potential to be a really nice, wide buck similar to the one I used to call Hayrake. -
Absolutely correct. Ive said the same thing in the past about the DEC's doe engagement issues. They simply cant manage them correctly if everyone with a bow/ML license has doe tags that can be used anywhere in the state. These tags need to be done away with or changed to WMU specific for does.

Plenty of links? You supplied ONE that had nothing to do with the subject. You just said that there are problems with the GPS studies, so offer up facts to backup your statement. My comprehension skills are just fine, thanks. I dont know everything, but I have researched this subject quite a bit, and I offered the info I found up to you, thats all. You are the one saying that the GPS studies, etc are invalid or problematic and not offering up any proof. So now facts (data collected and alligned with moon phases that show deer movement has no correlation with it, average breeding dates collected through fetus backdating that show no correlation to the moon) are "interpretations? Whatever. Its obvious you dont care to accept the facts, and Im not trying to change your mind, just offering up information, which is mostly for others so that they can look at both sides of things and decide which makes more sense. As far as demeaning or insulting comments go, I made none. Im not sure how many deer Ive killed, I havent kept score, but its a pretty high number. Im pretty sure you have been hunting for a longer time than I have, so thats not surprising that your number is higher, whats your point?

Ill be joining the X Bow crowd this year
WNYBuckHunter replied to WNYBuckHunter's topic in CrossBow Hunting
My choice had nothing to do with vertical vs crossbow. I want a crossbow at some point, I just dont want one that feels cheap and chinsey. I tried the low end route when I got into vertical bows, and it cost me a bunch of unnecessary money and frustration. I wont do that again. Ill just pony up for a Ten Point or Scorpyd at some point. -

WNYBuckHunter replied to WNYBuckHunter's topic in CrossBow Hunting
Well, I went to pick up the crossbow, looked it over and decided I dont want to bother with it. Its not what I want, so Id rather not waste time with it. The person owed me money and had asked if I wanted the crossbow as payment. I opted for the cash. -
If you are going to refute something, you might want to come with evidence. Just saying there are problems, etc is just heresay from someone with vested interest in knocking real science. Sorry, but technology prices do not rise, they fall. You do sell your moon theory, you write for at least one publication, and Im sure you arent doing it strictly from the goodness of your heart. Im not going to sit here and spoon feed you everything, I lead a pretty busy life and dont have time to do so. I pointed you in the direction, if you truly want to learn, youll do youre due diligence, just like I have.

Chicken wings in the smoker are fantastic. Beef ribs are great too.
