  1. I dont think even blowing through a straw would get you a crossbow permit as it stands now.
  2. previously, when you bought pre-bans, you bought either stamped/dated mags or mags that were made by companies that went under before the 1994 ban went into place.
  3. First, plenty of guys that practice, end up gut shoot deer too. As long as they recover the deer, I dont really care. They are the ones that have to track it. Would I RATHER see people make clean kills? Sure, but life isnt perfect, and neither is hunting. Its the resolution to a bad shot that I care more about. Second, if baiting is legal, then I dont care. Am I going to worry about someone baiting 100 miles away? Not really. Ill tell them its illegal, but thats about it. Someone doing a wheelie on a motorcycle does not endanger the sport or make anyone look bad except for themselves. The asshole that thinks they are on a race track and blows wheelies down public highways is the problem. 9 times out of 10, they are the guy that thinks they are some sort of "professional" because theyve been riding for a while. Bad analogy in this case.
  4. No they are not "grandfathered" in like they used to be (pre-bans). Any mag over 10 rounds is illegal in NY, there is no way to register them, you must sell them out of state, sell them to a licensed gun dealer, dispose of them or turn them in.
  5. I didnt say it wasnt, I was just pointing out that it was not the national QDMA organization that backed the bill. BTW, I believe the author is a member on this site. Just an FYI.
  6. Hold on there bub, the Upper Hudson Valley River chapter of the QDMA supported it, not QDMA national.
  7. Well then, own your own land, and establish whatever rules on it you want to, and dont worry about what is legalized for the rest of the state. Just like golfers that want to stay away from the "riff raff" join private clubs, and dont go to public courses. BTW, using differing tactics, style of weapon, etc is alot different than being unsafe. Not many people want others being unsafe, no matter what weapon is in their hands. I never said anyone should be unsafe. Apples and oranges. "Sloppy" is also completely subjective.
  8. I have Directv, and have maybe one or two times through the whole year when I get any weather related blackouts, and they never last long. My bill has never increased unless I added a receiver or additional channels, and the quality of the signal is head and shoulders above Time Warner's "HD" or digital, and its less money. I have DSL for internet.
  9. See, and people wanted to delete the thread 10 pages ago lol.....
  10. And there you have it folks. BTW belo, you realize that the phrase "to do it right" is 100% completely subjective, yes? Its nothing more than your OPINION of the "right way" to do it.
  11. Wait a minute there pal, youre talking about NYBowhunters Inc, correct? The SAME group that has been lobbying FOR an early muzzle loader season? Please, tell me more about how they stick to their guns (pun intended), and are all about protecting "their" season from the big bad "gun hunters"....
  12. Im going. Allready signed up for all of the seminars and classes. Its gonna be a fun 5 days!
  13. Ive seen similar things on the market already. Problem is, you have to basically ruin the lower by making these things completely permanent for it to be legal (according to some). When the safe-crap is done away with, youll have a lower that no one would buy and you wouldnt be able to reconvert. Btw, California just outlawed these, the "bullet buttons" and all of the other ways around their bans. If the safe act sticks, youll see it happen here too, mark my words.
  14. Not all pro crossbow folks have any agenda or special interest besides allowing everyone the choice to use whichever form of archery equipment suits them. Theres nothing selfish or egotistical about it. Theres no false information being handed out, no scare tactics being used, no telling people they arent a real hunter if they dont do it a certain way. Theres no claims of people taking an easy way out with one side of their mouth and then using the easiest form currently allowed themselves......
  15. No, the 6v battery packs are already rechargable. Wgi, moultrie and other companies make them along with the solar panels.
  16. http://blog.syracuse.com/outdoors/2013/06/proposed_antler_restriction_bi.html
  17. Add one of the 6V solar chargers and youll never have to worry about it again.
  18. no prob. I might scoop those crab apples up myself this week. They tend to hold the fruit much longer than most other regular type apple trees.
  19. Predate, it will work with your Cherokee. I originally bought this for our old 98 Cherokee before the ol' lady wrecked it.
  20. I gotta get my elk drawing entry in, thanks for the reminder
  21. I looked at what it is I use and its the T-17. It works great and I have no issues with it. The rest of my firearms only get good old Remoil and I havent had any problems with that either.
