  1. That guy had alot of faith in a couple of rivets.
  2. Also realize that the "saboohhhh" is the plastic piece that the slug or bullet fits into.
  3. The DEC already had their public comment periods, etc on the issue.
  4. I believe the 500' rule is going to be changed in a different proposal.
  5. http://huntingny.com/forums/topic/16900-check-this-bear-vid-out/
  6. http://www.chasingame.com/index.php?id=223 I think that is what cusehunter is thinking of.
  7. Its for the DEC to have the authority to place it where it wants to, so basically, yes.
  8. What I would love to try would be to run the Accutips in my muzzle loader to see how they do against the SSTs I currently use. I havent found a source for the Accutip bullets though.
  9. Seeing as its moving right along, and was just printed as an amended bill yesterday, Id say its doing ok. Historically, lots of bills get pushed through right toward the end of a session, before they go on a recess. Personally, Id like to see this bill done correctly, so there are no issues with it, even if it takes a little time.
  10. If you dont want to use the SSTs, Remington has their version that is constructed similarly, and gets really good reviews. Its called the premier accutip. They arent quite as fast as the SSTs if I remember correctly.
  11. The bear would have left on the first sniff, because i would have crapped my pants before it got half way up the tree.
  12. Well, then you would be 25% as alive as you were when you started lol
  13. My take on it is that its going to be some time before it gets repealed. Court cases take time. Have patience.
  14. Ive had that happen before, but I just back my stand off of the trails, etc more than I used to. I also dont go 20+ feet up, so my shots are at more shallow angles.
  15. FYI, do some looking around, you can sometimes get the "Open Shot" top sections and use it with your current Viper bottom. Similar to the Razor, but even less weight. I had one and sold it, as it wasnt for me, but many guys love them.
  16. Whoa, Ill have to go check lowes again, the deer have all but completely destroyed my two cherry trees in the front yard.
  17. Joseph, seriously, work a few extra hours and buy the proper arrows and tips, and get setup by a good pro shop. You are never going to get comfortable with equipment that is not correct. Youll end up spending way too much time and money dinking around with the wrong stuff.
  18. You really shouldnt be cutting the damaged section of a carbon arrow off and continuing to shoot it. Do that kind of thing and eventually youll end up like this guy...
  19. It could have also been the old, original SSTs, which had a hard polymer tip, and sometimes didnt expand if they didnt hit bone. The newer ones have a softer tip, causing better, faster expansion without hitting bone. I dont remember when it was they changed them.
  20. SSTs that didnt expand? You sure you dont mean Copper Solids? Heres a picture of an SST thats been cut in half, I cant see a way that it wouldnt expand.
  21. Sorry to hear this phade, if you need an extra hand, or another truck to haul stuff, feel free to give me a call.
  22. Heres a link to the bill so anyone can follow the progress. http://assembly.state.ny.us/leg/?default_fld=&bn=A00283&Summary=Y&Actions=Y&Text=Y&Votes=Y
