Yeah, insults, go back and read what you said. You can pick nits all you want to try and prove your "point" on this, but its bunk. Im not going to change the subject here, you are trying to insinuate that a gun or crossbow is any more dangerous when used irresponsibly than a vertical bow, and that is pure BS. As far as those safety regulations, they are no different than the regulations of how you can travel with a vertical bow, that safety is taught in the hunters education course for archery, etc. Good lord.

The bill will be voted on by the senate today. Get your emails and calls to your senators in this morning!

Actually you have to do something stupid and unsafe to cause anything to happen with any of them. I understand that you refuse to admit to it because it causes your line of thought to be a complete failure. I get it, youre not the type to ever admit youre wrong. Then when you have nothing left, you start tossing out the insults. What "safety stuff" are you talking about?

So the bill passed through the codes comittee and has landed on the senate floor. All we need is passage there, then signed by the governor and its a done deal. Not much further to go!

Antler Restriction Bill?
WNYBuckHunter replied to NYBuckHunter27's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Not simpler times, they were times when the deer population could not sustain any larger of a harvest rate. If you did that now days, the deer population would quickly get out of hand in many areas. Thats actually why they stopped doing it that way. -
Just saw this update... http://m.nysenate.gov/legislation/bill/S1699B-2013 "Jun 11, 2013: REPORTED AND COMMITTED TO RULES" Does this mean it passed?

Antler Restriction Bill?
WNYBuckHunter replied to NYBuckHunter27's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Not in my area. As Culver said, if they own large tracts, self imposed ARs are easy. In one area I hunt, there are many property owners with many large and small chunks. Access is very limited, and most of us have agreed not to shoot anything below 8 points, many of us have expanded that to outside the ears and a few dont shoot anything less than 4 1/2 years old or better. Its been working very well, as there have been some absolute monsters taken and regularly seen in the area. Last year, a couple of guys got permission to hunt a small chunk that has always been kind of a sanctuary area. During the first week of gun, they killed 2 small bucks that had been passed by me multiple times. One was a 1 1/2 year old 8 point that was only an inch or so away from the tips of his ears on each side. That buck had some fantastic potential and I was (and still am) disappointed that he was taken out. But hey, thats deer hunting on small property. Would ARs have saved that deer? Nope. Would education have saved him? Theres a heck of a better possibility that it would have than some regulations. -
Antler Restriction Bill?
WNYBuckHunter replied to NYBuckHunter27's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Its called the easy way out. From my experiences of talking to people about the subject and watching the debating in forums, etc, it seems like the people that push it the most are the people that dont seem to have the self control to pass on younger deer without a law in place. They also usually are the same people that are not educated in the different ways to tell a younger deer from an older one, so they rely on an obvious, but pretty unreliable way to guess, number of points. Again, these are my observations and I dont feel that everyone that is pro mandatory ARs is the same. -
"Hey Bob, you hear those turkeys gobbling across the field?" "Huh???? Where?" lmao

I do understand the reasoning and science behind ARs, and they do produce results. I am not in support of making them mandatory. I believe you will get a better result through continued education rather than forcing things down peoples throats. -
A transvestites ass apparently lol

Here Comes Ontario County ...... Again

Wooohoooo! Who has an Encore Pro Hunter barrel in a decent caliber for sale?!?!?! -
Its a trigger. Its mechanical and provides the same exact function. Theres no stretch. You are talking about hunting and shooting related accidents, right? You are then saying that those accidents cant happen with a bow, but could happen with a crossbow. Id say you are implying that they are more dangerous. Not much of a leap there lol. BTW, it would be tough for many of the gun type accidents to occur with a crossbow, seeing as if its dropped or pointed down at a steep angle, the arrow would fall out of it. Yet another aspect that is nothing like a gun....

skillet doesnt come by as often anymore, though I have PMed back and forth here and there with him. I do miss Dave6x6 being around here. Its pretty standard fare for any forum site like this though, people come and go as the site evolves. Its still a pretty young site though. Im sure the active membership will change many times over in the future.

From the looks of it, bbgirl92 stole the glue from Belo and huffed it all up
-
Yeah Belo, just messin with ya bud.

Oh I get the logic behind it, but we dont have storm sewers lol. What doesnt get soaked up by my lawn runs into a drainage ditch that runs through my property, and that dumps into a creek which is a tributary of Honeoye creek.
-
I find it 100% ironic
-
I didnt have to pass any shooting test to get my hunters ed certificate if thats what you mean. Do I think you should have to? Absolutely.
-
The garbage pick up I dont care, but the water and sewer bills SUCK! The sewer bill gets me everytime, as they bill you based on your water bill. Theres no metering system for the sewer, so they just guess at it. Every time I wash the truck, Im getting double billed. Everytime I water the grass seed and gardens, yep, double billed again! Im looking forward to the day we move back out of the village.

I dont think thats the real reason why its illegal to sell venison, or any other wild game meat in NY and many other states. Its more along the lines of keeping poaching to a lower level and not allowing commercial hunting, which has been the cause of many wild game populations diminishing in the past. Deer were hunted almost to the brink, so were buffalo, etc.
