  1. The spot I was in was in northern Livingston county. No luck on finding the buck guys. Never even found the arrow, and we are pretty sure it was still in him. The only area within 500 to 600 yards we didnt cover was the rest of the standing corn field. We followed some promising sets of track through there, but nothing. Im pretty bummed, gonna stay in for the day I think. Good luck guys.
  2. So far I searched for 2 hours and no luck yet. Grid searched for the arrow or blood but nothing. Im thinking the arrow stuck into a bone and with no low exit hole, it explains the lack of blood. Waiting for a buddy to come over and help look.
  3. Yes, you can hunt them at night. Be aware though, that during any open deer season, you can only use shotgun or rimfire on them. No centerfire. After deer closes, you can use any caliber you want on them at night or during the day. Spotlights, night vision are both allowed, as is baiting. BTW, the blueish LED spotlights wont spook them either, and give better light than red.
  4. I figured there was a Limburger sammy in there. Lawdwaz seems to swear by it.
  5. Hopefully youll get some time in before bow ends Doc. What did the eye Dr have to say? Do they think youll be able to get back out there soon?
  6. Sorry Eddie, in another thread I mistook that to be a pic of Bubba.
  7. Thanks guys, no snow up here, just frost, and not a ton of it, so hopefully it will be a short easy track. If I can find my arrow, it will give me a better idea. Good luck to everyone out hunting this morning.
  8. Ill go on my lunch break. Should be lots of 8h available.
  9. Thanks guys, hopefully ill have a pic of him in the success thread in a few hours.
  10. I gottcha on the sarcasm. Fortunaely in the area I was hunting, there arent many if any yotes. Ive left deer overnight there before hanging less than 2 feet off the ground with no issues. Temps look good so it should be fine. Thanks.
  11. No, but the light wasnt that great. Its gonna be a restless night. Thanks.
  12. LOL Pat, heres what happened. Just before I posted about the does, I had hit my fawn bleat and doe bleat a few times hoping to get the does to come back. Right as I was hitting reply on the phone, I saw the buck coming right in from behind and to my right. I damn near dropped the stupid phone trying to get it back into my pocket, as I still had my bow in one hand and the phone in the other. I got turned, release clipped on and drawn just as his head cleared some brush between us. I waited for his vitals to get in the lane and began to squeeze the trigger with my 20 and 30 yard pins split right behind his shoulder. Just as I was doing that, he began to slightly quarter to me. The arrow hit him with a good thwack and he kicked and ran about 60 yards and stopped. He had his head and tail down and stood there for a few minutes, then he walked maybe 10 more yards and stopped again. I grunted and bleated with the grunt tube and he never looked back, just slowly walked into the brush. I waited 10 minutes and called up to the house and asked my father to bring a flashlight. Looked for my arrow, nowhere to be found, and couldnt see any blood, as it was getting dark. I walked to the field edge where I saw him go into the brush, shined my light and didnt see anything so we backed out for the night. I had to go pick up my son anyhow, so Ill let him go for the night and get back on the trail in the morning.
  13. Literally 30 seconds after my last post I had an 8 point come in and I took my shot at 30 yards. Details later.
  14. Just had 4 does, 2 small, 1 good, 1 huge in my lane @ 50 yds. Heads down feeding.
  15. Have a button buck bedded 15 yards behind me. Now hes up and under me
  16. Guess we will see what they do.
  17. Congrats on the doe. Never shot one with no teeth.
  18. Been in my stand for 45 mins. I like the hang on I was in this morning but this 2 person stand is so much more comfortable. The weather is nice here. Cloudy and cold with no precip.
  19. Congrats on the doe and good job on the tracking and giving plenty of time for her to expire rather than push her all into the next county.
  20. G-Man, if they become legal during archery season, why would they put it in the gun course? Wouldnt make any kind of sense at all.
