Back in the stand. Adjusted to a new sspot about 80 yards from this morning. A few more heavily used trails here. I also freshened a couple of scrapes with the last of my Grave Digger and put a cam on theargest one with anoverhaning branch.
Im speaking out of experience. I even pulled a slug out of the ground last year that didnt expand, even after going into the ground. I never said no blood trail, I said light blood trail. I have heard the same thing from others that use them as well. Like I said, I hope you have better luck with them.
BTW, they arent 1 inch in diameter. A 12 ga bore is less than 3/4", then the slug is wrapped in the plastic sabot, which means the slug is even smaller than the 12 ga bore.
I have a few deer that I have named. Hayrake, Picklefork, Spot, and an old doe I call The Witch.
As for what I call deer in general, slick, slickhead, flat top, skipper, pig, hillside veal, walking burgers
Scouted a bit on my way out, lots of fresh scrapes in this area. Im thinking Ill be putting a hang on in there, saw a bunch of deer this morning, just either too little or too far. Going back in there after lunch.
Finally inmy tree. Decided to try a new spot where ive been seeing deer come out of. Its a patch of white oaks and hickory. Found scrapes comingin and already had does come by but out of range. Missed my climber, this thing is comfy.

I would say just hang in there, the cold weather is here and the deer are on the move. The bucks are starting to get interested in does, so if you just stick near the does, the bucks will show up. Yesterday while trying to track down a buck, I noticed scrapes opened up everywhere and fresh rubs galore. Try not to over hunt one stand, and only hunt the stands when the wind is right. Be careful with trail cams right by your stands, any time you go check that cam, you are pressuring that area more. The next two weeks are gonna be good.
